Dubai has made an astonishing progress on improving and modernizing its structures. Only very few remnants and history of the old Dubai are still visible. Bastakia is one of the places that survived the modernization. It has been renovated and made into conservation area. Old buildings made of coral and wind towers dominate the place. Dubai Museum which is located on the same areas as Bastakia is another place worthy to visit. Traditional craftsmen working on their trades, old souks from the 1950’s and an Islamic school let visitors experience for real Arabian night in the desert.
