Atlantic City, world famous for it’s gambling and beautiful bright lights, is much more than just a large casino. This gorgeous city offers something for literally everyone, and lots of it. Regardless of your taste in fun, Atlantic City is sure to offer you something that fits right in. Gambling is offered up in grand style, of course, but here are some suggestions for other things to do when you travel to Atlantic City, New Jersey:

Take In The Sights - Atlantic City has plenty of things to simply walk around and see. For example you might go and check out Absecon Lighthouse. This lighthouse is said to be the tallest on the New Jersey shore. Climbing to the top of this lighthouse is something that you will not soon forget. Another must see place in Atlantic City is the Historical Museum. There are wonderful bits and pieces of Atlantic City history to be seen, as well as plenty of other great things to look at. These are only two of the wonderful things to see in Atlantic City.
One major stop on the Atlantic City sight seeing tour is the Boardwalk. The famous Rolling Chair is waiting for you as well as numerous shops and sights. Go in and look around as you take your tour, or take a bike tour of the boardwalk to get a rolling view.
Sports and Recreation - This wonderful beach city is known for it’s sand and surf as well. Spend a lazy day on the beach swimming, surfing, or simply taking in some sun. Atlantic City has one of the most noted beaches in the northern United States.
If that is not your cup of tea, you could always go fishing. Head over to the inlet, or fish off the pier for all types of ocean fish. You can catch flounder, snapper, and even the occasional crab to name a few ocean critters. The fishing is especially good during the summer runs.
Boating in Atlantic City is also huge, regardless of the reason. Some boat to fish while others boat just for the fun of it. Either way, Atlantic City has you covered. Rentals are available and the ocean beckons to you every time you visit.
If you would rather steer clear of the ocean, then have no fear. Atlantic City is one of the most popular places for biking and their are plenty of trails, tours, and places to peddle your cares away. Bike rentals are also available at most times, and the scenery is second to none.
If you want to work up a good sweat instead, you can always play basketball, tennis, squash, or racquetball at the courts of your choice.
Shopping - Perhaps shopping is the one thing that might rival the gambling in Atlantic City. Virtually every single thing that can be bought and sold can be found in Atlantic City. The Walk offers an outlet shopping experience that will keep you coming back again and again. The Boardwalk itself is a great source of incredible shopping fun as even the casinos offer shopping options. There is a fair share of tourist type shops, as well as traditional shopping stores spread throughout the city.
While Atlantic City probably will always be first and foremost a gambling city, that should not prevent you from enjoying the rest of the treasures they have to offer. Fun times for every age group can be found. Next time you plan a vacation, consider Atlantic City, New Jersey.
