You’ve been going through the same trail every weekend; you practically know which pebble to go through. As an experienced mountain biker myself, this could get really boring. Yes, we all go to the trails to gain a better body through exercise, but we still want our exercises to be exciting. For a mountain biker, nothing beats the feeling of going through the beaten tracks in the middle of the mountain and not passing through them again. The thrill of going on those tricky rides just adds to the feeling of exhilaration. We all want to tell ourselves and our buddies “been there, done that” when we talk about trails and danger.

The popularity of mountain biking has never been better. There are thousands of mountain bike shops around the country and they all have expert bikers to sponsor weekend competitions, which tend to be really fierce. You name the mountain and they will bike through it. There are millions of enthusiasts in this country alone going through the irregular tracks , trying out every slope and pushing themselves to the limit.
If you want to get the best mountain biking experience, why not bring your mountain bike with you and arrange for a mountain bike vacation? Talk to your buddies regarding this idea and both of you can plot out the places where you want to go. For days you can just spend your trip on your mountain bikes and stop at hotels to rest for the night or two.
There are also travel companies that you can talk to where they offer these trips for enthusiasts. The most frequented places in the country are Alaska and California. The treks in these states range from the beginners to the very experts. You can experience drops from cliffs or just a ride in the forests. In Alaska, be sure to go there when it’s not too cold. The treks and the view are exhilarating, but they are better appreciated in a warmer condition.
Aside from this country, why not go really deep in the south and enjoy the country of mountain bike trails? Australia is a continent itself that offers endless trails. You can go from one city to another and between them are treks that can challenge your mountain biking skills. New Zealand is another country that you should consider for that perfect mountain biking experience. This country offers trips to their mountains and the view could never be better.
Planning for a mountain bike vacation package with tour companies takes time and experience. They will plan out where you should rest, and this will allow them to dictate the pace of your ride even before you start. You should already be aware of your speed at the moment. If you’re still an amateur at this, better ask for a guide, as these professionals will assist you from start to finish on your vacation.
So don’t be stuck in the regular track in your neighborhood. If you have the time, better plan and go on a mountain bike vacation. You can never be closer to nature with this type of trip.
Great things usually come from small beginnings. As with any other sport, you cannot expect yourself to be an expert in mountain biking without getting started somewhere. Often, the initial hurdle of fear keeps one from pursuing these kinds of activities, but once you have gotten past that hurdle, your new challenge is to actually learn the basics and work your way on it after the learning curve period has subsided.
The hard part about embarking into mountain biking is to realize that it isn’t just about freely moving your bike in whatever trail seems open for you. Being a real cyclist involves being extra mindful about yourself and your fellow mountain bikers. The thing is, you all share the same trail. There are rules of conduct that keep the peace among mountain biking enthusiasts in every area. Make sure that you get acquainted with the old timers in your area of choice so that you will learn the ropes easier. If you have a support network on your new activity, you are more likely to master it faster. Some of the more basic rules include not startling your trailmates when biking by giving out warning signal when you are approaching them, sticking to open trails and not leaving too many markings that will damage the trail, and not scaring away animals who are on the trail.

When starting out with this activity, easy does it basically. Don’t be too risky with your biking ability. Stick to the comfortable trails and don’t go towards the more difficult ones until you have banked on enough confidence and practiced long and hard enough for it. Balance yourself in all four directions. In ordinary biking, it’s just usually the left and right balances that you are concerned about. In something as rigorous as mountain biking, even the front and rear pressures need to be balanced consistently if you want yourself and your mountain bike to last longer periods of time. Work on your balance while on level terrain and then when you are ready to move up to more difficult trails, you have at least mastered your sense of balance and is least likely to slip into a threatening situation.
In your mountain biking activity, make sure that you have mastered the basics such as climbing and descending. Even these two menial biking tasks are bit tricky when you move into mountain biking. The goal of every mountain biker is to lessen the physical pain and bike as much as they can without any stress. Improper climbing and descending can cause unnecessary pain which will hamper your progress as a mountain biker. It will also do you a lot of good if you corner well. Don’t be looking at areas you don’t want to bump into. Remember that your bike’s direction is identical to where your eyes are focused. If you happen to look at the bump you don’t want to hit, chances are your bike will drive you right into it. When stopping, make sure you slow down before you hit the corner then accelerate just as you are about to reach it before you skid to a halt.
Use brakes properly. Hit both front brakes before reaching the corner. When shifting gears, make sure you are shifting at a viable speed. Also, avoiding mud, rocky, and watery terrain will keep you safe and able to make your next mountain biking trip.
