Who is the Best Team in the NFL so Far?

The NFL football season is a very long process. The playing field during week six is rarely the same when the end of the season comes along. Teams will rise and fall like the stock market. Through six weeks of NFL football action, who is the looking like the most likely bet for the Super Bowl?

What is Wrong With DeAngelo Williams?

DeAngelo Williams burst onto the NFL fantasy football scene last year with a season that put him in some pretty impressive company. The list of running backs that have scored twenty plus touchdowns in one season is fairly short. In 2009, DeAngelo Williams has found the road a bit harder, however, and many fantasy football owners are starting to panic. What is wrong with this powder keg of a running back?

Matt Ryan Versus Joe Flacco - Who Is Better?

It is not very often that you have an NFL quarterback come into the league and see success in their rookie year. It is even more rare that you have a rookie quarterback start for their respective teams on opening day and start the whole season. It is a miracle when you have this happen to two young quarterbacks in the same season. Joe Flacco and Matt Ryan performed just that in 2008, and are now performing even better in 2009. Which of these two young quarterbacks is the best?

Beating the Blitz in Football

The blitz is one of the biggest weapons that football defenses have at their disposal. The reason the blitz is so effective is because it gives the offense more attackers than they can handle. The key to beating the blitz is really in the preparation and recognition. If you see the blitz coming, it is much easier to beat it. Panthers and Cowboys Face Must Win On Monday Night Football

In the world of NFL football it is uncommon to consider any game played in September to be a must win. The Carolina Panthers have painted themselves into quite the corner to start the season. In week one NFL action, the Panthers laid a horrible rotten egg against the powerful Philadelphia Eagles. This game was eerily reminiscent of the Jake Delhomme massacre in the 2008 NFC playoff game against the Arizona Cardinals. To Jake Delhomme’s credit, he did rebound during week two against NFC South powerhouse Atlanta. In spite of a much better game the Panthers still came away with a loss.

Panther’s Injuries Starting To Pile Up

The Carolina Panther were all set to be a powerhouse in the NFC South this season. They had all the pieces in place, and a clear cut goal - a Super Bowl Championship. While those are lofty goals for many teams, it is not really outside the realm of possibility for the Panthers. They have the best running game in the NFL with DeAngelo Williams and Jonathan Stewart, and they have one of the premiere wide receivers in the game in Steve Smith. Even the defense was looking up with Julius Peppers not leaving as planned. Then came the pre-season injury bug.

Favre Already Making Waves In Vikings Locker Room

One had to expect that the signing of Brett Favre by the NFL Minnesota Vikings would be a bit of a circus. Just looking at Favre’s constant retirement/un-retirement sagas of the last few years would have told us that. Now it seems that the Vikings locker room is at best divided, and at worst close to mutiny as to which quarterback should pilot the ship. I have news for the Vikings players - They are wasting their breath. Brett Favre, for better or worse, will start and run the Viking ship this season barring injury.

Can Jay Cutler Turn The Bears Into Super Bowl Contenders?

When the Chicago Bears got Jay Cutler, perhaps nobody was more surprised than the average Chicago Bear fan. It seemed to materialize out of nowhere, and the Bears fans surely did not see it coming. Jay Cutler under center for the Bears still feels weird even months later, and it has to make one wonder if the fit will take. What many people outside of Chicago do not realize is that Jay Cutler is not your average everyday quarterback. He is not just a rocket arm with no brains. The guy understands the game. Still, can Cutler do what no other quarterback in recent years could do for the Bears? Can he take them to the Super Bowl?
