When it comes to great little slimline digital cameras, the Sony Cyber-Shot T700 is quickly making a name for itself. There are a number of outstanding features that fully justify the high price tag (they run about 400 bucks) and the memory that this little camera alone is worth the cost. Not only is it loaded with great features and memory, it is also a very good looking, slick camera that is fashionable to boot.
The big draw for the Sony Cyber-Shot T700 has to be the memory. This little digital camera holds 4GB of flash memory. Internal memory like that is worth it’s weight in gold to some people. If you are planning on shooting a ton of pics, the Sony Cyber-Shot T700 also has a spot for a memory stick. One odd note about this camera is that you can not use the stick and the internal memory at the same time. This is no big deal really, because you can always put the stick in your pocket when you want to go internal.
Another cool thing about the Sony Cyber-Shot T700 is that most of the controls are touch screen. While this may be a draw back on some digital cameras, the Sony Cyber-Shot T700 is offering up a nearly 3 and 1/2 inch LCD with which to work. That is plenty of room to keep the touchscreen large and manageable. Unfortunately, all that screen eats up the battery life.
The settings are rather easy to work with, and even a novice digital camera owner should be able to navigate the various menus and information. That is one thing that I love about the whole Sony Cyber-Shot series of cameras…The menus are easy to pick up and run with. You do not have to spend six hours buried in the user manual to get rolling with great pictures or photography.
The Sony Cyber-Shot T700 certainly performs well for basic picture functions and the video is pretty good as long as you are not in High Def. The only real drawback to this little camera is the fact that in low light it under performs in my estimation. The pics are tough to get sharp when the lighting is bad. Outside of this, the Sony Cyber-Shot T700 is one of the best digital cameras I have come across on the whole.
Overall, the Sony Cyber-Shot T700 is a great camera that will fit in well with the higher end rookie digital camera crowd. Though not cheap by any means, the Sony Cyber-Shot T700 is worth the cash if you have it to spend. You will have a camera that you can pretty much point and shoot and have great pictures right out of the box. Even recreational pictures come out fantastic without much adjusting.
