Samsung A737 - Cell Phone Review

Let’s just say that for a phone within the $30 to $50 price range, the Samsung a737 should provide you both a serviceable and a stylish phone at the same time. All we are saying is that you should not really expect much because this is not really one of those hi-capacity multimedia phones that can literally wire you to the moon.

The Samsung a737 specifications include: red, orange, blue green casing trimmed with black; a 1.3 MP camera, stereo Bluetooth (A2DP), software that supports HSDP or High Speed Downlink Support Access, a media player, microSD memory slot and a Video Share support.

samsung a737The Good

If you are looking for a tiny phone that can fit easily in your pocket but still provide you some kick-butt music selection, then the Samsung a737 will not disappoint you. The sleek design is easy to use, and for people with fat fingers (like us) navigating through this little phone is a breeze. Phone features are easy enough to learn, and in our opinion, even on the unimaginative side. It certainly does not take a rocket scientist to work out the different kinks of this device, and for a mobile phone at the price range stated above, this is proving to be a good (not entirely great, though) one to use if you have nothing else.

Camera quality is good but not the best; if you like to engage in shoot and run pictorials, and you do not care about printing quality afterwards, then this phone is okay. Make sure that you always have the memory card in so you can have a longer video shooting time.

The Bad

If you prefer getting 3G calls, the Samsung a737 is not the phone that can give you the best service. Although Samsung mobile phones still provide the best connection in most black spots, the 3D connection with this model is seriously lacking. And if you think that is bad enough, it should also be pointed out that 2G calls are also somewhat questionable, with the voice volume constantly shifting on your end, and a resonant echo emerging from the other end of the line when you turn on the speaker phone feature.

Also, unlike most modern mobile phone cameras, the Samsung a737 does not even have a flash to accommodate each shot.

The Ugly

Like all small phones, the one problem that we constantly face is the battery life. Naturally enough, smaller models have smaller battery spaces, and the Samsung a737 has apparently one of the smallest battery packs available in the market. At most, you have 2 hours of talk time, and even less if you let the camera and videos running. The manufacturers obviously wanted to be thoughtful, ensuring that the phone would vibrate every few minutes as a reminder that you need to plug it in. However, this feature should have been seriously left out. It can be nuisance when you are in the middle of the call, and the phone decides to remind you incessantly that you have a low battery life already – right up to the side of your face, vibrating every so often in your ear.
