Preparing For Black Friday Day After Thanksgiving Sales

Black Friday is a term that makes most women excited and sends most men running for the closest hiding spots. Why? Well, it is the biggest shopping day of the year most of the time and it means that there will be sales everywhere when the big day comes. Black Friday is appropriate, however, as it always seems to end up being a huge mess. People everywhere have horror stories about their Black Friday experiences. Is it possible that you can actually enjoy Black Friday? You bet it is and here is how you do it:

Be willing to park at the back of the parking lot when you attend a Black Friday sale. The reason for the this is because when you are leaving it will be a whole lot easier to get out. This quick escape comes in handy after spending hours chasing the very last one of about six things you came in for. You will be ready to go.

Have a specific list you are looking for, but be flexible when you go Black Friday shopping. When I was a retail manager, the items we expected to sell out sometimes did not and the ones that was meant to be impulse purchases always did. Grab some of those unadvertised Black Friday sale items to round out your shopping list. If you have two items, similar in value and price, the chances are good you will get at least one of them. If you come in with only one and are unwilling to stretch, then you are likely to be disappointed.

Make sure you eat a good breakfast before you go shopping. Many people will head into the morning of Black Friday on an empty stomach. This is a huge mistake. It makes you cranky, and will generally leave you feeling like crap.

Do not put all your hopes on that one Black Friday item. Too often, people come into Black Friday hunting that one item. Chances are that one item is the one that everybody will want. If you are willing to jump in the mad rush to get the three or four copies left of the Ipod this year, then more power to you. A much more logical idea would be to go after the fringe deals that are just as good, but without the huge rush.

Make sure you shop in a group when you go Black Friday shopping. If you can get ten people going, then all the better. Make sure you all know what the others are looking for, and then team up to get the items. You will make your shopping a whole lot easier and your odds of success is multiplied exponentially. Spread out when you get into the store, and have your shopping lists in hand.

Concentrate on the smaller stores for Black Friday. These stores will have less traffic than the major retailers and you will have a much better chance at getting what you want. These stores do not have the advertising budget that other stores have, and will be willing to pass along significant savings for your Black Friday dollars.
