Nokia N800 Internet Tablet

Nokia, the world’s leading manufacturer of mobile phone, has introduced its newest electronic gadget which allows users to browse the Internet by means of Wi-Fii Technology.

The device features media entertainment which includes FM, Internet radio, video files, audio system, image viewer, and RSS news reader which makes it possible for users to utilize web sites in synchronized and automated mode which can be transferred into filtered displays or special programs.

nokia-n800-internet-tabletThe Nokia N800 Internet Tablet is a wireless Internet device which also allows users to connect to other mobile phones with the use of Bluetooth. This device has been developed due to the success of the company’s previous product, the Nokia 770.

It also features a 128 MB of RAM and 256 MB of flash memory; OMAP2420 microprocessor with a native speed of 400MHz; and a connectivity which includes Bluetooth 2.0, IEEE 802.11 b/g, and USB 2.0 OTG high-speed.

Featuring a display resolution of 4.1-inch 800 x 480 at 225dpi; audio system which includes stereo speakers, FM radio tuner, microphone, and 3.5 mm headphone jack which functions as the antenna for FM radio and is compatible with any standard stereo headphones; and a built-in camera with rotating web cam feature; the N800 provides users with the maximum entertainment and functionality features.

The web cam of this Internet Tablet provides images which can be accessed via World Wide Web, PC video conferencing applications, and instant messaging. The device is designed to support Skype which is a software program that allows people to make telephone calls over the Internet, video conferencing, file transfer, and instant messaging. The Internet Tablet can also support Flash 9 which allows users to have an access to YouTube videos, Internet call service which comes free of charge, and online flash games.

Using a mini-B socket USB port, the specially grounded adaptor of the device can maximize the feature of USB OTG client/host auto-switching which can be done using a software with regular adaptors. Since USB OTG only provides 100mA of power, any device with large power consumption has to be used with a powered USB hub.

The device runs with Internet Tablet Operating System (OS), a modified version of Debian GNU/Linux. The OS provides a “Home” screen, a feature that is considered to be the central point from all kinds of applications and settings. This is divided into areas specifically for menu bar, launching applications, and customized area which can display information including RSS reader, Internet radio player, and Google search box.

Other application features are Gizmo, Skype, Mozilla-based MicroB browser; and Macromedia Flash. This device is also compatible with any software which is designed to support Internet Tablet OS and most common file formats.
