Writing a product review may sound easy, though it is not as it seems. Many might think it is easy because you are writing your own opinion on a product. Could not be that hard, right? Wrong. Sure you could write up a product review, but the key is to make it effective and attractive. I will outline a few steps you should follow in order to ensure a quality product review.
The Title
First off, no one will read the review if it does not seem interesting. People obviously see the title first, so try to catch their attention right there, from the get-go. Come up with a title that will really capture the reader’s attention, but simultaneously do not make a title that boasts the product too much (for example, do not lie in the title to make the product sound good). Usually, the titles that attract the most readers are in the form of a question. For example, something like “Is the new Vacuum 3000 really the best vacuum in the market?” When readers see this, they become more keen to see what a consumer really feels about the product. This could be for many reasons. Maybe they want to buy the product as well, but are not sure if it is a good product. These people are almost sure to read your product review, especially with an attention grabbing title. Another good method to use for a title is by stating what the product did for you. A good example of this would be “I lost 200 pounds in 1 month using Bowflex!” Now, that example was put in a good form, but the only problem is how I exaggerated. I did this on purpose to let you see what you should not do. Not many people are going to believe someone claiming they lost 200 pounds in 1 month. This will ruin your credibility in the eyes of readers.
Do Not Write From a Bias
People reading are most likely going to be able to tell the truth from a lie. So, save yourself the embarrassment and loss of credibility by being biased in your product review. Most of the people viewing your product review are probably familiar with all the get-rich-overnight scams. They are probably able to tell the truth from a lie as I said before. You’re an affiliate marketer, and you’re supposed to be truthful and detailed at the same time. Do not just list the positives of the product, but list the negatives as well. Writing a product review, if you have not actually used the product, is close to impossible. The whole point is for you to recommend or not recommend a product. How would this be possible without actually trying it? It wouldn’t.
Personally, I have seen many websites where people are selling an affiliate product. I have seen some very effective ones, yet others that are not effective at all. Often times, people see these sites as not trustable because they seem to good to be true. This is why you need to gain your readers trust. How do you do this? By being honest. Lying in your product review is only going to cause readers to run off in the other direction, which is the last thing you want as an affiliate marketer.
Take Command
When your writing your review, you need to sound be like any other expert. For example, a hockey expert is willing to help out others with questions about the game. An expert in computers is willing to help others will computers. Write in a friendly tone, and assure them that if they have any questions or problems that they can come to you. List your accomplishments, but not in a way that is seems like you are bragging. Show them that not only can they talk to you and ask questions, but you are a legitimate source for them.
Extra Benefits
Almost certainly, someone else is selling the product you are selling as well. In your review, clearly explain your thoughts on why they should buy from you, if they do decide to buy. Maybe you can offer them something if they buy the product from you (yes, sort of like bribery). If you are on a tighter budget, offer them something that is free (a free phone session with and such). If you have some money to spend, definitely consider offering something that will leave no doubt in their mind that you are the best to buy from.
