Camera manufacturers keep coming up with innovations on their product line up of SLR (Single Lens Reflex) cameras and as a result, more consumers now have a chance to own SLR cameras. What seemed to be an expensive hobby to pick up has become more achievable thanks to intensifying competition amongst camera manufacturers.
Although SLR cameras have become more affordable, this does not mean that it has become cheap to get into photography. One’s spending does not stop when he buys an SLR camera. In most cases, owners of SLR cameras would not be contented with one lens hence would have at least 2 lenses at any given point in time. And aside from extra lenses, photographers would most likely have other accessories such as battery charger, external flash, tripod or monopod, cleaning kit, extra memory cards, lens filters among many other things and bringing all these things is not a joke. So one of the things that some consumers do not really think much about when buying an SLR camera suddenly becomes a necessity…. a carrying bag to keep his SLR camera and all the other accessories that comes with it.
There are several factors one must consider when buying a bag to keep one’s SLR camera and accessories. And for most consumers, size and type are two of the most important factors that need to be considered. Of course it already is a given that the bag must have cushion to protect especially the SLR camera and the lenses.
Size for most photographers is one of the most important factors they consider in buying a bag. The bag must be able to fit the SLR camera plus all the accessories one has. The more accessories one has, the bigger bag one needs especially if one has to take all his accessories everywhere he goes. There are bags that are small and convenient yet can only fit one SLR camera with an attached lens. These are ideal for photographers that want an inexpensive bag that is handy for day trips.
There are also slightly bigger sized bags that can keep an SLR camera plus an extra lens and some accessories such as an external flash. These are ideal for photographers that switch lenses often (in most cases from a wide lens to a zoom lens or vice versa). And there are also big bags that can fit at least two SLR cameras, several lenses, all the accessories plus a tripod and even a laptop. These are ideal for photographers that travel a lot and want to bring all they need with them in one bag. These however are bulky and normally is not cheap.
The type of bag is also an important factor for photographers. There are sling bags that are handy and in most cases have easy open access which most “on the go” photographers value a lot as it makes it convenient to get their SLR camera whenever they see something interesting to shoot at. And there are also big backpacks that maybe bulky but can carry everything one needs. This is ideal for photographers that take time to set up their shots.
Size and type along with other factors must be considered in buying a bag. Not only will the bag keep all your gadgets, they also help protect them.
