Washington DC is a wonderful place to visit, and the political landscape provides for plenty of fun and exciting things to do. The one thing that is difficult to do sometimes is to find a decent place to eat that does not cost a fortune. Restauarants in Washington DC are largely overpriced, but they also have some of the best food on the East coast. Fortunately, their are some places to eat that are fairly priced, and have great food as well. Here are some great choices for your next stay in Washington DC:

Ruth’s Chris Steak House
Located at 1801 Connecticut Avenue.
While Ruth’s Chris Steak House is not the cheapest option on this list, it is certainly worth every single penny. The ambiance in this steak house is wonderful, and the food is the best in Washington DC. In particular, they are known for the best steaks. Man, does this place deliver the goods. Regardless of how you like your steak, they do it better than anyone else. If you want a succulent steak at a price that won’t break the bank, Ruth’s Chris is the place for you. They also offer a wonderful menu that expands beyond steak, but it is steak that makes them special. Make sure you get a reservation before heading over there, however.
Primi Piatti Ristorante
Located at 20113 I Street.
This is the best Italian food I have found in the entire city of Washington DC. As a matter of fact, nobody else even came close. The dishes are served in massive size, and you will never look at cheese the same way again after eating one of their signature dishes. If Italian food is your bag, then you have come to the right place. The prices at Primi Piattis are very reasonable as well. Reservations are suggested but not necessary except during prime hours.
Equinox Restaurant
Located at 818 Connecticut Ave NW.
This is one great seasonal place for American Cuisine. If you are looking for something familiar and close to home, then this is the place for you. Located only one block from the White House, it is also a wonderfully scenic food experience. Your wallet certainly will not think you are eating around the corner from the President either. Great food, and great prices from top to bottom.
CAFE 8
Located at 424 8th Street SE
Now this is a great place to eat that can literally make you believe you are eating somewhere overseas. The food is divine. In particular, they make a Turkish pizza that is famous for the taste that keeps people coming back over and over. What I love about CAFE 8 is that it is reasonable, while still providing you with a top notch eating experience. There is something for everybody at this wonderful cafe.
