Phuket: A Beautiful Thai Island

Phuket is a wonderful area that attracts many tourists. It is the largest island in Thailand, and is surrounded completely by the Andaman Sea. Surprisingly perhaps, Phuket is not just about golden sands and clear blue waters; much of the island is mountainous with variable weather patterns. The Phuket Mountain Range runs through the southern area, and is an interesting location in itself. The highest elevated mountain in Phukt is the Mai Thao Sip Song, which measures more than 500 meters above the level of the sea. The economy in Phuket runs literally on palm oil. Palm oil plantations cover half of the island in its entirety, and rubber is also exported to add some flexibility to the local economy.
