Virginia, in the United States of America (USA), is also known as the gateway to the South. Its capital city is Richmond, while its largest city is Virginia Beach. The state entered the Union in June 25, 1788 and was ranked 10th. Its nicknames are The Old Dominion and Mother of Presidents. About eight American presidents were born in Virginia.

Central Virginia
Sitting right smack in this part of the Mother of Presidents State is the Kings Dominion, a theme and water park previously known as Paramount’s Kings Dominion. Its highlights include various kinds of coasters, like the Flight of Fear indoor magnetic launch coaster. It also features a motion stimulator ride with Spongebob Squarepants in 3D. Kings Dominion, however, does not have a ride reservation system. On peak days, the lines can get pretty long, but they move quite quickly. This is a great place to bond with family and friends, especially if you are bringing your kids along on your trip.
Western Virginia
The many highlights of Western Virginia include the Blue Ridge Mountains and Parkway. If you want to spend some quiet time with Mother Nature, this is the right place for you. Then there’s Luray Caverns. A National Landmark, these caverns are the largest in the eastern part of the USA.
