Charlotte, North Carolina is located on the east coast of the United States and sits in the heart of the beautiful Carolina region. Charlotte is home to many corporation headquarters and is one of the more thriving smaller cities in America. With its rich history and exciting growth, Charlotte has a lot to offer that makes it a more than worthwhile destination for any trip, business or personal. There are many things to do in Charlotte that most people wouldn’t even know about.

Here are five things that you must do when traveling to Charlotte:
1. Charlotte Museum of History - The entire region that Charlotte sits within is the main focus of the Charlotte Museum of History. This museum has a great look at the early settlers of Charlotte and dedicates a large amount of attention to the Civil War era.
2. Discovery Place - Discovery Place is one of the most exhilarating experiences, especially for young people. With its wealth of hands on exhibits, Discovery Place will entertain visitors of all ages.
3. Rosedale Plantation - The tour of this classic historic home and plantations is a fantastic look at pre-Civil War era Charlotte. A very rare opportunity to see what life was truly like during the era of slavery.
4. Hendrick Motorsports Complex - Any NASCAR fan, but especially fans of the Hendrick Motorsports drivers like Jeff Gordon, will love the time spent at the Hendrick Motorsports Complex. Racing fans will have a hard time leaving the gift shop without dropping a large amount of money.
5. Charlotte Nature Museum - A great destination for the entire family, but especially geared towards youngsters with its extensive inventory of hands-on exhibits, the Charlotte Nature Museum is a true winner in terms of places to visit.
A visit to Charlotte truly offers something for the entire family, but anyone interested in United States history will definitely have their plate full in terms of things to do. Charlotte, North Carolina remains low key enough to be one of the more off-the-beaten-path places to visit and is a great vacation destination. With the city’s accelerated growth of recent years, the future is wide open and we can only assume that there will be more and more attractions added to the city over the next few years.

To anyone and everyone who can spare a moment:
I’m seriously thinking of moving to a warmer climate, but with some change of seasons. I am interested in North Carolina. I visited Cary, North Carolina and liked it a lot; however, I’m interested in finding more information about Charlotte, North Carolina. I love the fine arts . . . plays, ballet, symphony, museums, cultural and fun activities for family, children and adults. I love the coffee shops, movies, Barnes & Noble, etc. I also love biking, hiking and swimming. Indoor and outdoor water parks are fun. Christian activities are very important to me also. I’m looking to live around some good, positive people! Excellent ratings on schools (all levels) are very important to me. I have a 5 year old daughter, and I also am returning to college. Also, safe, progressive neighborhoods are very important to me. So, to sum it all up . . . a mild climate, excellent education, a good church, safe neighborhoods, and fun indoor and outdoor activities would almost be paradise for me! Can anyone give me any information . . . even if it is outside of North Carolina?
