Hollywood, California is one of the most famous places in the United States, and a large part of this is because of the celebrity atmosphere. If you are visiting Hollywood, California, you are certainly going to be a bit overwhelmed with all the things to do and places to see. It seems that every street corner has something that you would consider noteworthy. This is especially true if you are celebrity minded. Even those that are not crazy over celebrities will enjoy Hollywood, however. It is much more than just a place where movies are made. With that said, there are five places that you need to put on your list if you go to Hollywood. These five places you simply can not miss.
1. The Hollywood Sign - If you go to Hollywood, you simply can not miss the sign. It has been there since 1923, when it was originally an advertisement for a development in the Hills. Back then, it actually said Hollywoodland instead of the now familiar Hollywood. This sign is the most famous sign in the world, and it is rather breathtaking the first time you see it in person. Put this near the top of the list.
2. The Hollywood Walk of Fame - Though this has lost some luster over the years, the stars along Hollywood Boulevard are still a must see. Virtually every notable actor over the years have placed their hands or feet on this sidewalk, and you will be amazed at just how many are here. Half the fun of the walk down Hollywood Boulevard is seeing all the unique characters that inhabit this area. You will see people from every walk of life on Earth, and a few that are arguably not of this Earth.
3. The Capital Records Tower - This huge tower is absolutely a top landmark in the Hollywood way of life. The building itself is spectacular in that it was the first office building to be built circular. The building has been there since 1956, and has been a landmark since it was first erected. The Capital Records Tower is a wonderful place to visit in Hollywood, California.
4. The Hollywood Bowl - This is the place where Hollywood and Music come together in the perfect storm. The Hollywood Bowl is one of the few places that can claim a roster of virtually every major recording star. Most everyone played here at one time or another. If you are lucky, you just might get to hear someone on your visit. The Bowl itself is breathtaking and quite exciting to visit and view. This is well worth the trip, especially if someone is actually in concert when you go.
5. Grauman’s Chinese Theater - This is the place in Hollywood, California. If you are looking for Hollywood history, you need not look further than Grauman’s. This world famous movie theater has been the location of every major movie premiere during modern movie making. The place is spectacular, both inside and out. The Grauman’s Chinese Theater simply breathes Hollywood spirit, and in particular the old Hollywood. You name the celebrity and you can be sure they have passed through the doors of this theater, and likely been up on their movie screen as well.
