Rock Springs, Wyoming is a historically interesting place to visit. Though it is in essence a tiny little place, it was the site of the notorious Rock Springs massacre which occurred in 1885. The massacre itself was one of the worst racially motivated attacks in history. Many white miners slaughtered their Chinese co-workers in a riot, which killed 28 and forced many more to leave the town. In recent years, Rock Springs has been better known for it’s more positive attributes; there are a number of oil wells and gas reserves in the area which are now being utilized to boost the economy of the area. If you are interested in visiting a small and friendly place which houses many historical artifacts, Rock Springs is an excellent choice of destination.
