Trinidad and Tobago form an archipelagic state which essentially means a small cluster of islands. The islands are located in the Caribbean, and neighbor Barbados and Grenada. Though you might be envisioning the local people sitting on the beach singing reggae songs, the truth of the matter is that the islands are very much industrialized, and have an economy of their own. The people here tend to be involved in the petroleum industry, and much work is done in the petrochemical sector of the market. Trinidad is by far the larger of the two islands, and contributes over 90% of the landmass and population. Though Tobago is significantly smaller, many visitors prefer the quieter and more peaceful environment when they are on vacation here.
