The Algarve, which is located on the southernmost tip of Portugal, is an expansive region which houses some of the best tourist hot spots Europe has to offer. The golf courses are expansive and challenging all around The Algarve, and there are also beautiful beaches, night clubs, and bars interspersed with a great many historical landmarks. The capital city of the Algarve is Faro, but other noteworthy cities include Tavira, Quartira, and Lagos. The farmers grow oranges, figs, and almonds which is what the area is famous for from a commercial perspective.
