Camping and romance seem about as mismatched as two terms can be. The truth is, this is not the case if you plan it properly. Now it is true that some women are simply not cut out to be in the great outdoors. They are not likely to see the romance in a camping adventure. The first thing to understand is that there is nothing romantic about popping a tent and building the campsite. Find a location that is close to home but still out in the middle of nowhere. The spot must be remote so that you and her are free to do as you please. The spot also needs to be close enough to home so that you can go in advance and set up the camping necessities. By having the tent, supplies, and camping gear all set up you are ready to give a wonderful surprise.
On the day of the camping trip, take your lady out for a wonderful breakfast. Make sure that she is packed well in advance and that you pack everything a woman could need for the weekend. It is far better to have too much than not enough when it comes to women in the woods. (especially by surprise) Once you finish breakfast, suggest a nice long hike in the woods or a fishing trip. Again, it helps if you have a lady that loves the outdoors for this to work out.
Once you have her on the hike, then coming across the campsite is rather easy. Just happen upon it, and decide to explore it. It will not take long for her to recognize the camping gear as her own, and what you have done to surprise her. Allow her to enjoy the camping without any worries or duties. The most romantic aspects of camping is allowing nature to be appreciated. By letting her simply enjoy and you doing all the work, you are setting the scene for a very happy lady.
There are some things to consider for making the camping trip more romantic. Make sure you bring along some nice padding for under the tent. Make sure you bring plenty of food and some bear proof containers if they are known to be in your area. Make sure you bring some candles, and plenty of warm blankets. These are over and above the usual camping supplies you always bring.
Try to find a site that is near the lake, but not right beside it. As nice and romantic as a lakeside campground can be, it is very bad for bugs. In addition, camping right beside the lake will also increase the odds of you coming across wild animals. Still, it is nice to camp close to the lake so that after a moderate stroll you can be there. Looking across a lake that is lit by starlight is about as romantic as you can get. The outdoor natural beauty will amaze you.
