Cats are very fun pets to play with, and many people have no idea how to do it. Playing games with your cat is a huge source of fun for both your cat and you. Most people think that cats are only there to sit and purr and look cute. The truth is they are naturally playful, and you can tap into that wealth of fun with some effort. Here are five top games that you can play at home with your cat:

1. Hide and Seek - Yes, I said it. Hide and seek with your cat can be one of the funnest games on the planet. While you have to be the one hiding all the time, it is still great fun. Step one is to find something that your cat really wants and loves. I use a can of tuna as the draw. (unopened of course) Get your cats attention and let him know that you have his “treat” and then attempt to hide. The cat will follow you everywhere and occasionally you will succeed. That is half the fun. Trying to get away from your kitty. If you are able to hide, watching him try to find you is classic.
2. Laser Pointer - Cut out the lights, and cut on the laser pointer for hours of hilarious fun. Cats love this things, and they will go to the ends of the earth to locate the source of the little red light on the wall. Make sure that you are careful about him seeing the laser in your hand. Cats are smart and will eventually figure you out.
3. The Old Ball Of Yarn - Trying to get your cat to play with yarn is pretty simple. Give it to them and they will play. The real fun is when you pull a dangly end along the floor and watch them attempt to grasp it and catch it.
4. Catnip - Catnip is certainly high on the list of fun things to do with your cat. Just sprinkle a little on their favorite toy and watch them lose it. The cat is certainly a funny pet to watch, are they not?
5. Peek-a-boo - This is easily my favorite game with my pet cat. I set up a plastic bag, box, or anything else that I can poke a small hole in and then keep the open end towards my cat’s watchful eye. I then will poke something other than my finger through the hole and wiggle it. A long straw works very well. The cat will stalk this object like a tiger in the wild. Watching his little rear end wiggle just before he attacks is priceless.
