Tucker Chapman Turns Dog In

Yesterday, I discussed how Duane Chapman, aka. Dog the Bounty Hunter was caught on tape saying the “n” word in reference to his son’s dating an African American woman. At first, I mistakenly assumed that it was his son Leland, but today the media has released that the identity of Dog’s son in question is, Tucker Chapman.

Tucker Chapman is in a relationship with Monique Shinnery and Dog was concerned that if someone overhead him saying the “n” word, it would ruin his career. Well, he was right. However, what is coming as a total shock in this fiasco is the fact that it was Tucker Chapman (according to Dog’s lawyer) who recorded the tape and sold it to the National Enquirer. Now, the main issue that people want to know is whether or not Tucker Chapman violated state laws by recording the private conversation in the first place.

What is interesting to realize is the fact that many people in the country agree that they have all said something in private at one time or another, that would make them look bad if it was displayed publicly. This does not justify Dog’s use of the word but it still seems pretty apparent that Dog has plenty of support from his fans, and it doesn’t seem that they are all wearing sheets over their heads and spouting white supremacy.

Today, Tim Storey, Dog’s pastor made the statement that Dog began using the “n” word when he was in prison and that it became a habit. He also said that Dog uses the word frequently on the streets and that it is a common word spoken in many circles.

Personally, I think that Dog is going to survive this one. I think his show will be reinstated as well. Simply put, Dog never called Monique the “n” word. In fact, he said the very opposite that it wasn’t because she was African American, but because he used the word and didn’t want it twisted. It seems that Tucker is a bit money hungry, since he became outraged over the idea that he wouldn’t be on the show. I don’t know, I’ve watched Dog the Bounty Hunter and I’ve never seen Tucker. I’ve seen Leland, but I didn’t even realize that Dog had a son named Tucker until yesterday. But I guess Tucker was pretty ripped about not being on the show.

Like I said before, I think that Dog’s problem isn’t racism but the social conditioning that he’s become accustomed to. I hope that they will all make up and become a united front, but I wonder if that’s likely. This was a pretty big blow and to think that Dog’s only son betrayed him like that and jeopardized his entire career. That’s not cool. Maybe Tucker is covering for Monique, who knows. One thing that I would like to know, is how much did Tucker get for the audiotape. Whatever the price, I wonder if Tucker thinks it was worth it.

I think your missing the point here – Dog said things that were very offensive. It doesn’t matter if he was directing his racial slurs towards black people or not. He pretty much sums up the fact that he is racist and doesn’t want the world to know about it. The “N” word gets thrown around a lot off air, he says, and he can’t afford to let that get out to the public just so that it could mess up his career – he said it himself. Listen to that tape conversation and you can easily tell how he really feels about black people. Why do you protect him and deny the facts here? I don’t agree with how this was leaked. Tucker definitely messed up by selling out on his dad the way he did for financial gain but I am glad that it’s out – his dad is racist and in denial of that fact and it sounds as though you are in denial of that fact too. Don’t down play the situation here, and don’t misconstrue what is really being said. Its people like you who keep trying to lighten such intolerable racist behavior and who unwittingly make this social behavior more socially acceptable with comments that defend people who do such things. White, black, Chinese, Mexican, it doesn’t matter what race you are, it should not be right to make such disrespectful racist comments about another race and if we all saw eye to eye on this I can assure you that we would be one more step closer to ending racial segregation (because it is something that is still among us) and view ourselves not as Black or White or Yellow or Brown but as “People.” I am not black but I am still offended. He may not have directed any racial slurs toward me but I am still upset. He may not really be racist deep inside but than why make racist remarks about a particular race if your real intent is to show dislike to a person from a particular race? Get A Clue!

Worse than saying “the N word” is selling out your family.
Look, whoever termed the phrase “politically correct” should be slapped because it’s made this country thin skinned. Why is it not ok for a white person to use “the N word” but it’s ok for a black rapper to spew it all over a CD? For that matter, haven’t you ever heard one black person walk up to another black person and say “what’s up my niggah”? They weren’t fighting. No one was offended. And it was usually followed by a hug/hand “shake”.
Incidently… let’s listen to some of Al Sharpton’s private conversations… I bet we’d ALL be shocked!

It is so easy for people to point out other people’s flaws. It is too easy to call someone out on what you feel is right or wrong. Real life is mean and hungry and can eat you up in a minute and it takes a ruthless man or woman to do what the Dog does every day of his life and I for one am glad it isn’t me that has his job. I watch his show, sometimes I laugh at the outrages things he and the group do or I poke fun of his hair or his outfit but I would never have the guts that this man has to suit up and take down the real scum and grime the world turns out. The part you forget is that even though they have all been found guilty of one crime or another he still tries to help them after he catches them. People with racism in their hearts don’t have enough love in them to feel for their fellow man. When I was growing up I lived on the Indian Reservation out in the middle of the desert and I learned to accept the Indian culture and the way they talked. Many of you will notice the same about Dog, yet the Hawaiian people aren’t up in arms over him using their terms or embracing their culture. Black people are no different than any other group or culture, we all bleed the same. To set aside rules for a group and shut the door on another group is hate. I hate that there are words in this world that one man can use and another man can’t. Please…. I was called a “cracker” by a shipmate during my time in the Navy, when I asked her if she would feel ok with me calling her the N-Word she flipped out and had my sent to Captains Mast on charges of racial discrimination. You can say what you want but putting words on one side of the fence but taking them away from the other side keeps racism alive. If the word is so horrible than take it out of songs and the everyday life styles of young black men and women and let’s end this thing once and for all. If you disagree than you are the racist not Dog a man that believed he had done enough to embrace the culture surrounding him. You are keeping the hate alive by pointing out the people that use that word. Slavery was a horrible horrible part of history that no man wishes to see again but to boil it all down into a single word that is thrown around and around by the group that claims it to be evil? That type of stupidity will haunt this nation for a far longer time.

“Why is it not ok for a white person to use “the N word” but it’s ok for a black rapper to spew it all over a CD?”

… Because white people enslaved black people the effects of which have resulted in a culture of undereducated, underpaid and mistreated people. Many African Americans have overcome their heritage to become successful people. Many have not and have passed their own misgivings of white people and life in general on for generations. Look at the history and find out why the N word started being thrown around within the African American community before spitting out such an ignorant statement.

Yes, black people were enslaved by white people and it was a horrible thing. Before that (and during that time) they were enslaved by other blacks in Africa. Jews were enslaved for hundreds of years and people of virtually all races have endured unspeakable oppression and suffering. Personally, I don’t think it’s slavery or even so much racism that has lead to an “undereducated, underpaid, and mistreated” black America. It’s society’s well intentioned attempts at fixing the wrongs. They’ve been supperficial, ineffective and have only undermined the people they attempted to help. Mr. Chapman is obviously smart enough to know how charged this word is. I’m not surprised that he felt he could confide and speak frankly to his son, but let’s face it, he said they use the word all the time. Putting aside racism, that isn’t very wise to say the least. His son is a real piece of work for releasing this, but if he’s saying this all the time, wasn’t it just a matter of time? Now the lady in question is sueing him for slander? Maybe she heard the director’s cut of the tape, but I didn’t catch anything that was slanderous (Maybe I just missed it). And how rediculous the LA City Counsel outlawing the word. So much for the Bill of Rights. No matter what you think of him, this situation is a shame.

Black people can say the N word because they are not using it against their race as a racial slur for God’s sake america they are black!!! People ask that all the time! When white people say it it’s a different story they are using it as a racial slur. I have witnessed white people say it infront of other black people they hang with and there is nothing said because the white person who said it would do or die for the black people he hung around. Not to mention dressed, dated and lived as much like a black person as a black person would. Dog got to understand maybe his son is really down with the blac race and he can’t say the N wrd without offending his son also! Grow up DOG it’s the 21st century NIGGA!

“When white people say it it’s a different story they are using it as a racial slur.”

You go on to contradict yourself. What you’re saying is, it’s ok as long as the white person saying it dresses, dates and lives like a black person.

Hogwash.

I don’t think ALL people use the word as a “racial slur”. Personally, I think a person of any race can be a “nigger”. But not everyone has the same opinion I do.

Please forgive my “ignorance” SPV, but I still don’t see the difference. If the word is SO bad, why even tolerate your own race using it?

This is one big society full of hypocrites!

some of you all need a reality check. Not every single African-American person uses the n-word first of all, matter in fact I am African-American and I hate that word and I have never used it in my life. It’s a disrespectful term and for people to use the argument about him “being white” and how its “somehow okay for African-American to use that term” that is a crock of crap as well. It’s amazing how people think that’s its socially acceptable to use words like that and I believe its even worse that other african-Americans use that word period. Why on earth would a network keep someone on their network who promotes such a demeaning term. I agree with his show being plugged and even if he was “sold out” by his son… that is karma. When you habor hatred in your heart, it comes back and bites you. Shame on some of you who vindicate this man’s behaviors, the real colors are coming out and some of you won’t own up to it. The proof is right in front of our faces, I mean come on.

i totally agree wit getoverit i am black but i have never been happy wit d way blck plp keep using d N word and it irritates me so badly i mean i understand dat d reason they use dis word is to kind of make it better or make them feel better but d only thing we’re doin is refusin 2 let racism die down with dis wrd i personally believe dat if we stop usin dis word d way some rappers do then there would be a chance in overcomin racism because wit words like dis still in use, words which bring back bad memories, then nothin such as eradication of racism can be achieved. I jst hate the way we black plp blame our underachievement on the white plp KIDS IN SOME PARTS OF AFRICA CAN HARDLY GET GD EDUCATION AND BLACK PLP IN AMERICA DO SO Y CANT THEY JUST USE IT AND MAKE THEIR LIVES BETTER INSTEAD THEY DO DRUGS AND KILL EACH AND FIGHT OVER LITTLE , VERY LITTLE THINGS. I migrated from a country in Africa to d uk 2 study medicine and go back 2 help my country and to also help d uk d country dat helped me and i think dats how we shud make use of our opportunities. Fair enough there is still racism but theres nothin we can do about it by killing each other and rantin nigger nigger in music videos and raps and not speakin correct english cause fair enough if u dnt want 2 speak english THEN SPEAK PATOI OR LEARN SWAHILI AND SPEAK IT I SPEAK ABOUT 4 DIFFERENT LANGUAGES AND I DNT TRY 2 MIX THEM 2GETHER I MEAN WAT D HECK GET OVER IT CAUSE ITS SOOOOOOOO ANNOYIN AND HONESTLY I DNT BLAME DAT DOG BOUNTY HUNTER GUY EVEN THO I DNT KNOW HIM BUT HES OBVIOUSLY GOT ISSUES DATS 4 SURE if he as well cant stop rantin d bloody word
