Triplets Are a Miracle: Hope Amongst Heartbreak

In a heartbreaking accident, Chris and Lori Coble lost their three beautiful and precious children, Kyle Christopher age 5, Emma Lynn age 4, and Katie Gene age 2. The accident took place on May 4, 2007 in Mission Viejo, California. Lori Cobles and the children’s grandmother, Cynthia Maestri were in their minivan when a semi tractor truck hit them.

The driver of the truck, Jorge Miguel Romero was driving under the speeding limit and charges may be filed. He had been previously ticketed for speeding, but it doesn’t appear that speed was a factor in the accident. Chris and Lori Coble were devoted parents. The loss touched many due to the fact that Lori Coble was a mom who loved to take pictures of her children and post them on her Internet page. At the time of the tragedy, sympathy began outpouring across the nation and her devastation was empathized with. The beautiful stay at home mom who loved to devote on her children had lost them all in the blink of an eye, the community and virtual world were deeply touched for the devastation their family had experienced.

There is no way that anyone can read through the page without being moved to tears. Lori Coble pours out her grief and shares what it is like struggling to go on each day with the absence of her children. It is heartbreaking, but you can tell that Lori Coble is a strong woman and that with the support of those around her, she is still standing. There are also memorial pages dedicated to Kyle, Emma, and Katie. As you can see, the children were precious little angels who were dearly loved by their parents.

The loss of a child is a tragedy that no one should ever have to experience and the loss of three children so suddenly and at once is enough to cause lifelong despair and desperation. However, in an amazing turn of events, Lori Coble is pregnant and she and Chris are expecting triplets. What may be even more astonishing than the fact that she is carrying triplets is that she is carrying one boy and two girls.

Lisa and Chris used in vitro fertilization and ten of Lori’s eggs were fertilized. Out of those ten, three became embryos that were viable, or had a great chance of survival. They requested that they have all three embryos implanted. When the couple learned that the sex of the three embryos were two girls and one boy they didn’t hesitate to have all three implanted. The babies are expected to be born in spring and surely the Coble’s have all of our well wishes and prayers for a healthy pregnancy and wonderful delivery. For a family that has endured so much heartbreak, it is truly a miracle that they have been given a fresh beginning. Though the new babies will never take the place of Kyle, Emma, and Katie there is sure to be plenty of joy, children’s laughter, and smiles in the Coble family once again.
