Some college students opt to stand and wait in food-pantry lines. Others have given up drinking soda or going out to eat. Dallas Star Michael Irvin Sued Over 4th and Goal TV Show

Once again, Michael Irvin finds himself in the middle of a problem. This time it is because of the new reality television show that he is producing and claims to have created called “4th and Long” where regular guys get the chance to try to make the Dallas Cowboys. Irvin is being sued by three other men over the situation, claiming fraud and breach of contract. When a process server attempted to serve Irvin, he dismissed it out of hand.

Braves Release Glavine and Sign Pirates Star McLouth

The Atlanta Braves cut ties with 300 game winner Tom Glavine and traded for All Star outfielder Nate McLouth all in one day today. The moves show that the Braves think they can win and win now. As of June 3, the Braves are five games out of first in the National League East, trailing only the Phillies and the Mets. This baseball move is one that caught many off guard.

Using laptops, or computers in general, for test taking is nothing new, particularly in Norway, one of the most technologically advanced countries in the world. South Carolina Threatens Craigslist Investigation

Cnet.com is reporting that the state of South Carolina is preparing a criminal investigation against Craigslist.org based on erotic personal ads that have appeared on the web site. South Carolina Attorney General Henry McMaster offered Craigslist an ultimatum of removing what he termed “erotically charged” ads from the South Carolina listings on the site.

Is America Ready For Conan O’Brien Tonight Show?

Though it has been in the works for a very long time, the June 1st change from Jay Leno to Conan O’Brien on The Tonight Show still feels strange. Leno has grown into the face of the show, much like the legendary Johnny Carson before him. Conan O’Brien is most certainly a different type of talk show host, and The Tonight Show crowds will have to adjust to some degree. Gone is the laid back humor of Jay Leno and in is the zany, hyperactive humor of Conan O’Brien.

Child Survives Murder Attempt and 75 Foot Fall Off Bridge

A young seven year old girl survived a 75 foot fall of a bridge into the Willamette River on Saturday morning, and her mother is accused of her attempted murder. Unfortunately, the girls little brother, Eldon Jay Rebhan Smith drowned and was killed in the incident. Not only did the young girl survive the fall, but also 30 minutes in the cold water of the Willamette River.

Japan Tops Average Life Expectancy List at 83 Years

The World Health Organization released the life expectancy results as of 2007 and Japan tops the list with an average life expectancy of 83 years. Amazingly, in spite of being one of the richest Countries in the world, the United States placed well back on the list with an average age expectancy of only 78 years. This comes as a shock to many Americans, but it really should not when you consider the melting pot of cultures, and the poor health care system that we are currently suffering in.
