What is Volutin?


	Inclusion bodies that are stained pink with methylene blue (metachromatic granules). They are considered reserves of high energy stored in the form of polymerized methaphosphate that can be used in the synthesis of ATP. These metachromatic granules are commonly associated with Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Corynebacterium diphtheriae.
