Internet Dictionary - Definition of IETF


	Internet Engineering Task Force. An engineering and protocol standards body that develops and specifies protocols and Internet standards, generally in the network layer and above. These include routing, transport, application and occasionally, session-layer protocols. The IETF works under the auspices of the Internet Society (ISOC).
