Definition of Kerberos

Kerberos is a network authentication protocol designed to provide strong authentication for client/server applications by using secret-key cryptography. Kerberos authenticates the client application to the server application. A token is used to authenticate the client. The client first obtains the token from a third-party server (the token server). For the client to get the token, it must pass a strong authentication process.
