Definition of TCP

 
 Transmission Control Protocol. TCP is a reliable, connection- and byte-oriented transport layer protocol within the TCP/IP protocol suite. TCP packetizes data into segments, provides for packet sequencing, and provides end-to-end flow control. TCP is used by many of the popular application-layer protocols, such as HTTP, Telnet, and FTP.
