  Gbps 
 Gigabits per second. The data world avoided using the term billion, which invariably is interpreted as one thousand million, or one million million, in favor of the term giga as one thousand million. Of course, some confusion between the telecommunications and data-storage worlds still exist as to whether a giga is really the value 10^9 or 2^30. 
 
  POP 
 The Post Office Protocol (POP) is used to retrieve e-mail from a mail server. POP3 is the most recent version of the protocol and is available in all popular mail clients. POP3 is intended for users to download their e-mail from a mail server on which they have an account or mailbox. Most e-mail clients have a default behavior of deleting the mail on the server after it is downloaded. POP3 does not support sending e-mail. 
 
  ARP 
 Address Resolution Protocol. The discovery protocol used by host computer systems to establish the correct mapping of Internet layer addresses, also known as IP addresses, to Media Access Control (MAC) layer addresses.
