For those who run a blog, you may be very familiar with comment marketing. If not with the term, you are probably aware of the practice, but just unaware of the “blogging term.” Comment marketing involves repeatedly leaving comments on other people’s blogs (especially blogs with lots of traffic). This will do two things for you; gain a back link, and also possibly lead readers of the blog you posted on to your blog. In shorter terms, comment marketing will bring you traffic. If not right away, definitely soon after.
If you have a blog, and are reading this right now and about to go commenting on others blogs, hold off for a second. Commenting marketing does have specific methods, and you should follow these for optimal results.
First of all, do sufficient amounts of investigation into who are the best bloggers in your niche (in other words, your topic). There are many sites designed for users to search through millions of blogs. More simply, you can visit Google and do the same. Especially look at sites on the first page of the Google search. They did not get there by luck, and no, it is not random. Page rank comes from a number of factors. If you want to put simply, those with the best blogs usually have a very good page rank. Since they have high traffic, posting your link on their blog will help you a lot. Lots of visitors to their site equals the potential of lots of visitors coming to your site.
Come up with a commenting schedule. Try to see if there is a pattern in when the blog owner posts everyday. If there is, note this, and try to be the first to comment at all times on the new post. If you’re not the first, be the second, and if not the second, then the third (and so on). Being the first will clearly get you the most traffic. Why? Because every person who comes to comment has to scroll right by all the comments, and generally the first comment really stands out (since it is right after the bloggers post). Be consistent with your posting. If you can come up with a schedule, this will help you. Tell yourself “I will post 10 comments 5 days a week, for a total of 50 comments a week,” Yes, 10 comments a day may not seem like a lot, but look over the long run. It really does add up in the end.
I cannot stress this enough to all you trying to get traffic do your website. Be sure to not spam. Quality over quantity. People will not want to visit a site that has been spammed all throughout the web. This does not look professional at all, and will probably hurt your blog more than anything. Most big blog owners also require comments to be approved by them before being published. If your comment looks like spam, it will probably not even be posted. Take your time and make sure all your comments are good quality. Do not post and just leave your link. Leave an educated response that has to do with the bloggers post. Then at the end, you can offer the blogger and others to visit your blog if they would like.
There are many programs and websites that allow you to see where you are gaining your traffic from. Use one of these to see where you are getting the most traffic from. Look for blogs similar to the ones that are bringing you traffic to start commenting on.
The last, most important thing is to continue commenting. Do not stop. In other words, be consistent. Do not do it for 1 week, then stop. That is no good. You will get traffic for one week then it will most likely go downhill.
Following all these steps carefully will increase your traffic evidently, and most likely increase your chance of making money. If you are not in it for the money, then all is good. You will still have more visitors to your blog or web page.

Yes yes and more yes. Very definitely start and then do not stop — and very definitely weigh quality over quantity - this can’t be stressed enough. Think about the comments section as an extension of the blog posting or article - what can you offer?
