Spring cleaning time is upon us and that means window cleaning for the vast majority. Perhaps no other spring cleaning task is more dreaded than the washing of the windows, and for good reason. For years, window cleaning was a very tough job and meant climbing, stretching and leaning your way up to each window off the ground floor. Fortunately, there are a number of new home spring cleaning window ideas that you can now use to make the job much easier. Here are some tips to ease the spring cleaning window blues:

1. Begin your spring cleaning of your windows by looking into the new products out there. There are a number of great new products that come ready made to wash your windows and reach up to as high as the second floor. These products are found at your local Home Depot, Lowes, or hardware stores.
2. Rent a pressure washer! Pressure washers are wonderful ways to take the climbing out of window washing, and they are not that expensive to rent. As a matter of fact, you can buy a pressure washer for pretty cheap anymore, so you may even want to invest in one for future spring cleaning. It will certainly make your future homemaking easier.
3. Always do the outside windows first. Not only are you getting the toughest part out of the way first, but you are also able to see streaks and so forth much easier looking from the inside out. You can fine tune the window wash much easier from the inside.
4. When cleaning your windows, take the time to check the seals, locks, and workings of your windows. This is a great time to consider new windows if you need them, and you can also save a fortune on your energy bill if the seals are replaced where needed.
5. Clean the window frames as well as the windows themselves. When spring cleaning, we often take the short cut and later wish we would have went ahead and took care of the whole enchilada. Take care of any tasks near the windows as you go, and you will quicken your future spring cleaning projects considerably.
6. Finish what you start! If you begin cleaning the windows, then finish the job. Do not clean a few, and then give up “until next weekend” or you will quickly find yourself in the dead heat of summer trying to do spring cleaning. That is no fun at all.
Spring cleaning can be fun if you go into it with a happy go lucky outlook, and you can truly make a big dent in the work by choosing to enjoy yourself. Open those windows and let the fresh air of spring bathe you in relaxation as you work. You will be done with that window washing in no time flat and have more time for family and recreation.

On the subject of cleaning windows and windscreens, I use Windex & newspaper. Whilst driving through heavy cropping areas my windscreen is constantly blurred by bugs. To eliminate this and have clear vision, the above example is a cheap alternative and effective.
If you go to a butcher’s shop and ask for their old cheese cloth, you need to rinse it in bleach, then in clean water. With a spray pump action cleaner you will more than likely have clear windows where you may feel uncomfortable using newspapers.
Every tip we share helps.
Happy Easter
