Five Houseplants Even The Worst Gardener Can Grow

If you are one of the worst gardeners in the world, then finding a very easy to grow houseplant can be daunting. Not every plant out there will take abuse and neglect without dying. Most plants require some tender loving care, and others are a bit more solitary and independant in their needs. Knowing which is which is the biggest and best defense for that owner with a brown thumb. Here are five surefire houseplants for that brown thumber to get results that rival their green thumbed friends:

1. Cacti Plants - The cactus is one of those houseplants that you pretty much can not mess up. They need rare amounts of water during the spring and summer, and never need water in the winter time. They also need food about once every three or four months. Given the fact that they really only need a great light source, it would be tough to kill this little independant houseplant.

2. Grape Ivy - This little houseplant is especially easy because it needs food only every six months. Not many people would have trouble feeding a plant twice a year. The water requirements are a bit more stringent than the cactus, however, as they require a good watering whenever the soil becomes a bit dry.

3. Spider Plants - These are wonderful plants that are quite fun to watch grow. Again, they only need to be watered when the soil becomes dry, but they will suck it up quicker than the Grape ivy does. Feedings are limited to the summer months, and should be at two week intervals. The lighting needs are fairly high on this one, so make sure it gets plenty.

4. Aloe Vera Plants - Another twice per year feeder, the aloe vera plant is very strong and easy to take care of. Give it water then let it dry out before doing so again. Put it in the light, and the brown thumb begins to look green with the aloe vera plant.

5. Rubber Plants - Rubber plants are very similar to the care of spider plants except that they need a bit less light. Outside of that, they get feedings in two week intervals during the summer, and water when dry.

If you are a person that can not grow grass without killing it, you might consider doing a favor to the more complicated flowers and sticking to these easy care models. They are all very beautiful, and it seems that these plants were created specifically for you brown thumbers out there. Fortunately, though these plants are easy to take care of, they are still quite gorgeous to look at. They all make wonderful houseplants that are sure to brighten up your home or workspace.
