Cancer is a common disease that is known all throughout the world. It has been one of the more serious illnesses that anyone would want to avoid since, depending on the affected part of the human body, cancer can go as high as being incurable.
Cancer can either be malignant or benign. Benign cancer is curable, meaning that there is some medical way of being able to provide a curing solution to the cancer-hit part of the body. On the other hand, malignant cancer is a lot more serious since this means that cancer has developed into something complicated where medical resources have close to lesser chances of medicinal resolution.

Make no mistake about it. Cancer is not an issue to take for granted. In reality, anyone can be diagnosed from the disease at any time of their lives, sometimes at stages where they are least expected. Such has been the case for people who have bouts with gastric cancer, which can develop in any part of the stomach in a person’s digestive system. This usually develops from the formation of abnormal tissues usually originating from cells which normally divide abnormally, forming mass tissue forms that eventually become tumors.
Causes of Stomach Cancer
To this day, there has been no clear explanation of the exact cause of stomach cancer. While many believe that ulcer is one symptom or cause of cancer, it has not been really proven to be such. Smoking, usually known to be the main cause of lung cancer can easily affect the stomach as well, with the intake of smoke affecting the stomach organs.
Preserved foods are another identified cause of stomach cancer as well. It is a fact that preservatives are noted for not being all that healthy to the human body, containing some ingredients such as salt and other ingredients that are not that healthy considering that they may be taken in at levels that are not safe for the human body.
Most of the preserved foods that are available in the market today are based on such processing for consumer purchase, but unknown to many, regular intake of such may not be all the ideal, especially for people who are not fond of the health fresh foods that are available as well.
Symptoms of Stomach Cancer
Identifying the symptoms of stomach cancer may be tricky since outside the natural diagnosis made by physicians, people would treat the usual experiences they have to be associated to something else. Such would be crucial since the pain that they are experiencing may be already symptoms of actual stomach cancer in the early stages.
The usual symptoms would include the following:
- Indigestion or Heart Burns
- Abdominal Pains
- Vomiting
- Unusual Bowel Movement
- Loss of Appetite and Fatigue
- Abnormal growth of the stomach.
At first glance, the symptoms enumerated above can be easily associated with something other than problems concerning the digestive system. This is why it is still best to rely and get the expert opinion of doctors prior to making assumptions and conclusion as to these occurrences.
Diagnosis of Stomach Cancer
To be able to confirm that the presence of stomach cancer is in a person, various medical examinations as required by the attending physician will be ordered to determine the degree and extent of the presence of the stomach cancer infliction. In most cases, these medical examinations would include Fecalysis, Upper GI Series tests, and Endoscopy.
Such tests help a physician determine the extent of cancer increase in the human body, considering that the proper stage of the assumptions of the stomach cancer is critical to be able to provide the necessary courses of medical action. This is the only way to either rule out or determine the degree of gravity to which this unwanted disease can be done.
True enough, diagnosing stomach cancer and declaring it to be the governing disease stemming from the various problems and bodily reaction to which the human body may be reacting is not that simple. Close associations with other physical concerns of over 1,000 other possible health concerns is like assembling a puzzle.
Stomach cancer is constantly growing in terms of medical cases, especially for people over 55 years old. It affects mostly the male person and if they are not careful, may unexpectedly reach stages to which may prove to be futile as far as cures are concerned.

I have just created a blog for people who have been diagnosed with stomach cancer. My grandfather was diagnosed with stomach cancer in August of 2004. He chose to have a total gastrectomy.
There is a lot of information regarding Gastric Cancer, but there is precious little information helping stomach cancer survivors live without a stomach.
I would like my site to serve as a place for stomach cancer survivors to exchange practical ideas on living without a stomach.
