It’s never a bad thing to snore when you are alone in your room with no one else to be bothered while you are asleep. Trouble is, most adults are sleeping with their special someone, and people who snore can’t just help but disturb someone they love. They may have a good night sleep, but their partners are sure to have none as long as they have you on their side. Sometimes it can’t be tolerated anymore, and they just go and sleep in the other room which is frustrating, because you just can’t control it.

Snoring is caused by the expansion of the nose and throat. When we sleep, the muscles of our nose and throat relax and eventually they expand and become bigger. The passageway between the nose and throat are crammed, and the air can’t go out without making any vibrations in your nose and throat. That’s why most of the very loud snores that you hear sound like someone is drilling something.
There are many factors and reasons why people snore. One of known reasons is Apnea, which is a condition that needs medical assistance immediately. With Apnea, they snore not because of the expansion of muscles, but because of the irregularity of breathing even when sleeping. Being fat increases the chances of snoring since there would be fats inside your body, and the muscles or fats will increase the size of your nose and throat. Some are just unfortunate to have big noses and throats that will block the air going out because of the sheer size of their throats. Smoking can also be one of the reasons. Those who smoke a lot will most likely aggravate the muscles of their throat and block the passage way.
If you have sleep Apnea, it’s better to go to your doctor as soon as possible to seek assistance. However, there are things that you can do if you are experiencing it. The first is to lose weight. Fats are needed to be burned in your body and they shouldn’t be able to interfere with what you like. If you lose weight, the muscles in your throat will produce lean muscles, and even though they are small, it will be just fitting for your body.
Avoid smoking and drinking especially before sleeping. Drinking will make your muscles more relaxed than normal. Position could also be a factor; most people who snore are those who sleep on their back. If you think you snore a lot, sleep sideways face down, or on your side. You can also ask your partner in bed to move you if you snore. A simple push will do wonders. The body will be alert a bit, and the muscles will again be intact, creating a good passageway for air.
Snoring is such a challenge for us since it occurs when we are unconscious. But with a conscious effort, this condition will simply go away if you are healthy in the mind and body.
