Plants for Tummy Aches

There are many causes of stomach aches, and we always seek the help of non-prescriptive medicines to give us the relief that we really want. While these medicines are beneficial, they may only cure the pain and not prevent it. Once we run out of medicine, we just go back and buy them again at the pharmacy. It’s a good idea, but there is something even better. There are plants that not only cure the pain, but they also prevent it from coming back if taken religiously.

Dandelion is one of the known herbal medicines that is used for constipation. This herbal medicine immediately relieves the pain as it triggers the rapid production of bile in our body. Once we start to produce bile, the constipation will go away. It’s recommended that you take it once every after meal. You should remember to control how much dandelion you take. There will be side effects from excessive use. If you have a dried dandelion root, measure only up to one tablespoon and let it simmer for 10 minutes. Strain the roots from the water and take them as it is. There are also dandelion roots that are already on tablets, and you can take two tablets of 500mg every after meal.

Cinnamon is also one of those medicinal plants that works great for stomach aches. Cinnamon works perfect in the treatment of diarrhea, and it is even used for food poisoning. There are compounds found in Cinnamon that immediately affect the stomach. Before you know it, the pain is already gone with proper medication. Cinnamon is also a common spice, so you probably already have these in your kitchen cabinet, and you don’t need to buy anything to cure the diarrhea. It’s recommended that you take a single dosage at least three times a day. You can make a concoction of half a teaspoon boiled in a cup of water. If you take it regularly, the pain will be prevented from coming back. No need to take medicines if you already have Cinnamon in your hands.

Stress can affect all parts of your body, including your stomach. Chamomile is known to relieve stress in our body. We commonly perceive them as something soothing when placed in the air. However, it’s even more powerful if you take it through a simple concoction such as tea. Chamomile tea is the best way to take chamomile. You should drink it at least three times a day to have a better effect. But don’t just go out and purchase the first Chamomile tea that you find on the rack. As much as possible, get the tea that has the best aroma. Those that don’t have any smell will not have any affect on your body in anyway. Also, look into the bag and you should see small yellow flowers inside of it to guarantee its freshness.

These are simple cures that you can have for your aching tummy. However, this should only be treated as first aids to those illnesses and if anything is out of the ordinary, be sure to contact your doctor immediately.
