Migraine Headaches - Causes, Symptoms and Treatments

Migraine headaches are vicious head splitters that can affect us at anytime. Most of the time, this attack may get us into an irritable situation, clogging our thinking caps and making us choose wrong decisions, or making us do something we’ll regret once the migraine goes away. Let’s take a look at this on and off medical condition and see what we can do to prevent or alleviate the pain. Keep in mind that these are practical things that we’re dealing with, and no medicine may be required to make the pain go away.

The precise cause for this medical condition is not yet known. What we do know is that it’s a medical condition that concerns our brain. Most of the time, a migraine attack causes headaches in one or both sides of the head or even pain behind the eye or eyes. Each individual has their own triggering factor for migraines such as color or conditions of the environment. Things that may trigger migraines in me may not trigger on the other person, even if his migraine attacks are worse and more common than mine. Recent studies have determined that stress is the number one reason that causes this pain.

Since the symptoms and causes of migraines headaches are different among sufferers, the best defense that we can do against this condition is awareness. There are people who can anticipate migraines as early as 24 hours before this condition fully kicks in. Before the attack, they may experience some hallucinations, vomiting and vision problems. From there, they will know that a migraine is coming and can be prepared for it. You can make a journal of the activities of the day or any particular events that may have happened, and look at your frequency of response. You will notice how many times a certain event may affect you, and if possible you can stay away from it.

The preventive part of migraine attacks is quite easy, but it can be a serious problem when it appears. Another bad thing about migraines is that the immediate cure is also different from one another. So it’s also best to be aware of your practices. It’s a common practice to drink coffee in case something happens. Since most of the reason people experience migraine is stress, a little coffee would do magic to make you feel calm. Make your own coping and pain alleviating technique. It’s always important to look for one best suited for you to get the pain out of your head as soon as possible.

Migraines can be a tricky condition. Sometimes out of nowhere it will just appear in the middle of the meeting, and there’s not much that you can do except to complain. Always be aware of your surroundings, and stay calm as much as possible. If you really think this migraine is slowly killing you, no matter what you do, it’s always best to seek a doctor. They will prescribe pain relievers specifically designed for your symptoms.
