How To Get Rid Of Stretch Marks

Stretch marks are unsightly and unwelcome commodity of a human body. People who have them are considered unhealthy. With that in mind, why on earth would you want to keep them around? In this article, I will discuss how to get rid of stretch marks.

Perhaps saying that you can “get rid of” stretch marks is a little bit of a stretch. This topic is a little bit of a mislead because, in reality, nothing will completely erase the stretch marks. Not even surgery will be able to totally get rid of those unsightly marks. If you follow these steps, you can make them much less noticeable, though.

The easiest way to be happy with stretch marks is to think of them as something beautiful. Stretch marks mean you have been around a good while. They mean you have eaten some seriously tasty food. They mean you have grown up a little bit! Maybe this does not sound appealing, though. If this does not sound like your thing, then keep reading for more answers.

If you want to have better skin, then you need to change the way that you eat. Eating bad foods will not only stack the pounds onto you, but it will create a situation where you have awful skin elasticity. Some of the foods which will help your skin look great are fish like salmon and certain nuts and seeds. Also, you might want to try to keep a diet full of fruits and veggies. This might sound obvious, but many people forget their skin when they consider a diet plan.

While there is not a lotion out there that will completely erase stretch marks, there are some that will help to conceal them. Certain creams can also help to make those itches go away. Try to stay comfortable above all else. Use moisturizers that will improve the overall health of your skin. Some folks like to use butters such as cocoa butter and shea butter to make sure the skin is not dry.

There are certain expensive and difficult surgeries that will help to reduce the look of stretch marks. If they bother you that bad, then see a doctor about getting a microdermobrasion surgery to remove the marks. Laser surgery is also an effective way to fight the awful looking things. These are extreme measures only for those who are serious about getting rid of skin problems.

Generally, you should want to do something about your stretch marks because you want to and not because someone is pressuring you. If a lover or loved one is forcing you to do something about it, then consider a relationship change. It will be easier to get rid of that bum than it will be to get rid of the stretch marks.

I’m 14 years old and I HATE my stretch marks. I’ve had them ever since I was about 12. I have them on my thighs, butt, boobs, and my stomach, but not on my legs. They’re mostly on my boobs which is really disgusting to me and it makes me feel really embarrassed. It also effects my inner strength and I’m all about having smooth skin. So far all summer I haven’t swam but once so far because of my weight which is around 140 and of course my stretch marks. When I do go swimming, though, I wear a small t-shirt and cheer leading shorts over my bathing suit. It’s gets pretty annoying after a while when you’re with someone in a pool and they ask you, “Why are you wearing that over your bathing suit?” I’m working on my weight right now before high school starts, but what should I do about the marks? Will I STILL have to wear and outfit in the swimming pool or what?! I know I don’t have a chance on laser surgery or something like that so I throw that dream away. All I got is the old fashion way. So far I’ve even made a list on what things I could do at home. Here are some things I have so far: oatmeal/baking soda, moisturizers, cocoa butter, and control my diet with more certain foods (in article). I found most of these online of course. All I want to have is a normal body like any other teenage girl has. Not what a grandma has! But if it gets to the point where the “old fashion” way doesn’t work, I’ll try trying the product lotions that are pricey. If this doesn’t work then…I need HELP!!!! Please, help me :[

I am 16 years old…I had stretch marks every since I was about 10 or 11…I missed a bunch of proms, I missed a lot activites I wanted to participate in…but I didnt because the uniforms may be sleeveless. I have never let a guy really get to me..because I thought about him seeing my marks. I have them so many places its really not even funny. I have been insecure for all my life and my marks had the biggest thing to do with it. I have more marks than some 200 or 300 pound women and I’m 5′6 or 5′7 and 170 pounds. I remember when I was in middle school and some days it would be so hot at school but I was the only one with a coat on. It could be 90 degrees or hotter and I would still wear a coat. My marks are just that serious, I have them on my breast, the back of my legs, my thighs,my stomach, my arms all the way from the top to the crese of my arm i the middle! I have to make a change. I have 1 year until my senior prom and I refuse to go to prom with stretch makrs. Is there any way you can help me! please! help me. I’m ready for a change, cocoa butter dosent work, some please help me!!!

I’m fifteen, and I’m not going to whine and bitch about my numerous stretch marks.

I hate them, but I realise I have to work to get rid of them. Cocoa butter cream, and lots of time help. I cannot have surgery because I think that’s for faggots who are at least eighteen.

I hear that tanning and tanning lotion help, but I could’ve heard wrong.

Comment by roflcoptor — August 5, 2007 @ 7:56 pm

hey you guys, I’m sixteen and I just got these ugly red strech marks from using a steriod cream prescribed to me by some stupid-ass doctor that didn’t warn me about the side effects. now I’ve got stretch marks on top of the stretch marks already made by my body. my dermatologist prescribed tretinoin cream for me to use. It works best on fresh SM that r still red/purple coloured. Its supposed to take almost 6 monthes to see results and I just started. If I do get good results I’ll try to come back and post up my success. if I can find this site again. lol. for everyone who wants a quick fix…there is none. but try some vitamin E lotion or Cocoa butter, its supposed to help. drink lots of water and excerise. try massaging the area of the SM to regenerate cell growth and fade the marks.

time will eventually fade it but obviously thats not good enough for any of us.
but good luck to everyone and don’t give up!

Even though they are pretty much invisible now I still refuse to wear anything less than a hooded sweater because I feel discusting. I wish there were really a way to get rid of these things for good. I’m terrified to have more children because I do not want any more of these things. I’m 16 years old, curvy but not overweight. I got stretch marks on my boobs when i was about 13 because they grew very quickly, they havent faded yet and i absolutly hate them! Just this summer loads more appeared on my butt, upper thighs and hips. I dont know why this happened as i did not gain any weight, i actually have eaten less then i used to this summer, and i do try to eat lots of fruit and drink plently of water, so why do i have them, and how can i make them fade??
I know i should just be grateful that i am healthy and loved, but the truth is i hate my body now, and i used to love it, i dont wear skirts or small tops and i cant wear a swimming costume, i feel ridiculous for being superficial but if you could send me any medication or creams to help then i would be so grateful, i have tried the natural way (excercise, water and fruit) and it didnt work, and am now truly desperate!

I am 15 years old. I have stretch marks on my breasts and inner thighs. I noticed my first stretch mark on my breast about 2 years ago. Ii thought it was a vein or something. I started to notce more showing up. And since I was getting older, I wanted to wear shorter shorts and lower tops. But because of my stretch marks, I can’t. It really really hurts me, because i see all the girls at the beach who are my age with their bikins and it crushes me to know I can’t wear one. I am not fat at all. It’s not just baithing suit season, it’s every season. Dresses for dances are being made more low cut, and i am unable to wear them, I’d have to wear a camisole underneath. When my friends ask me why I can’t wear somethig without a cami, I always have to lie, because it would be embarassing to tell them. I really need some advice about clothes I could wear to cover them up better and any other advice about how to take care of them. I understand a lot of young girls get them, but I haven’t ever seen any on any girls my age. So that’s what really confuses me and makes me feel different.

Hi everyone,
People report mixed results with cocoa butter. It may not remove stretch marks completely, but just make them look smoother and less noticeable. Still, it can make you feel more comfortable exposing your skins.

Hi…I’m Sandy and I have stretch marks on my hips, and that is the most place I really want them to go away. Everytime I look in the mirror at my hips I feel so bad, and disgusting…I realy wish they can go completly away…but…I’am not the only one who has them…a lot of girls have them, but I still do feel nasty. Everyone…they will fade away don’t worry, but just put on all sorts of lotions on your body where the stretch marks and eat healthy, drink a lot of water…the more you eat unhealthy, the more you gain weight and recieve more nasty stretch marks. I really wish they’re go away on my body.

I didn’t realise how many other people are having the same problem and how common it was. i thought i was the only one! I’m 13 and 14 very soon, i’m a healthy weight and nearly underweight but i still have stretchmarks on my bottom and the sides of my stomach. I wish they would go away, they make me feel depressed and i can’t wear a bikini without feeling concious or anything im pretty and stuff but i keep thinking no one will like me because i have stretchmarks. I wish God would take them away. I lost alot of weight when i was younger and thats probably the reason, i heard tans can cover them up, really?

Comment by Anoyomous — October 15, 2007 @ 6:32 pm

This is not helping me at all. I am 17, and I have terrible stretch marks on my thighs. I’m close to underweight and yet, I still have them. I played soccer for 12 years and that overtime gave me stretch marks. Telling me to eat healthier is not going to help. I’m miserable. I can’t get surgery because I can’t take that embarressment. So far, I’ve been able to hide them by giving everyone the impression I’m just modest. I can’t handle them anymore.

I’m 15- and where can I start?
I started gaining a lot of weight quickly when I was 14, I didn’t leave my room much or go out for walks etc. I also got introduced to junk food and started to eat probably more than is required.
I’m not fat but i’m heading that way.
What really hits is that I have all these stretch marks. I have them on my bottom, my thighs, some on my stomach, and a few on my breasts. I’m not sure what are from me gaining weight and what is from simply developing (as i’m a slow developer).
Obviously I need to tone up and maybe loose a little bit of weight but i’m still confused at how to get rid of them. What makes it worse is they are still growing everywhere! I dunno how to do it and have bought stuff that promotes it can remove them but it doesn’t work so well. How do I get rid of them?

Comment by angel — October 30, 2007 @ 5:16 pm

While I agree with much of what the above article says I also have seen many people great results at diminishing their stretch marks with the essential oil called helichhrysum and more important a specific brand of this oil and also trentoin which is vitamin a. There have been studies on both, and both have been proven to work with substantial research. Just about everybody would opt to get rid of their stretch marks if they could.

I’m 21 and I’ve had stretch marks since I was 12. They are all over my legs, butt, thighs, knees, breasts, and sides. From the past year I’ve been using Shea Butter with Vitamin E. This stuff really works!! They are not completely gone, however, I can hardly notice them anymore! I don’t think there is a single woman in the world that does not have stretch marks. So, no one is alone!

Hi, I’m sixteen years old and my story is basically the same as everyone elses. I don’t think I’m disgusting because of my stretch marks, I’m not even overweight, but it would definately be incredible if there were a way to make them less noticable, without changing my diet, because I’ve already done that part.

Comment by Jennifer — December 5, 2007 @ 5:33 pm

i’m 13 so stretch marks aren’t a sign of being around a while . i hate having stretch marks because i am a gymnast and have to wear a leotard and i get some horrible looks at my legs. its not fair because am not over weight and wen I’m getting changed for p.e no other girls have them not even the really fat ones. its horrible and i want to get rid of them.

Hi, I am a 17 year old who was over prescribed steriods and got cushings syndrome. I am literally COVERED in these things. I cannot wear tshirts because they are on the inside of my arms, and I can’t wear shorts or skirts either because of the mess they made of my legs. Don’t get me started on my stomach. I look like a zebra. I got a £20 (about $40) gift certificate to a well known clothes shop and spent all day crying about it because there is nothing pretty I could buy from there. Any other teenage girl would be thrilled about it but not me cause I’d look like a freak in their nice clothes which every other teenage girl on the planet would look good in except me.

Anyway, I have a bit of luck with this creme called Striae by Dr. Lawerence Moy. The only thing is it costs £50 a bottle (about $100, but it might be cheaper in the US) but you do get a fair amount in. I am my harshest critic and I find its working. Slowly, but definatly working. I’d recommend it if you could afford it. Its definatly worth it.

Good luck everyone and believe me I know EXACTLY how you feel. x

ok. stretch marks do not come only from being over weight. ever had a growth spurt? BOOM stretch marks, pregnant? BOOM stretch marks. Gained a little? BOOM stretch marks. Weight training? BOOM stretch marks. So just calm down. most of you are young teens and your scars will be able to heal alot more quickly and better than an adults so take a deep breath with me…

Now the simple thing to do is massage cocoa butter on the scars and around the area 2 times a day. simple right? if you want something faster it will cost you more. i have used Striae Plus cream and it works wonders. Within the week the scars will fade and no one will be able to see them unless up close. So relax and work with them. it takes patience okay? Good luck with everything!

Comment by gabby — January 29, 2008 @ 10:17 pm

guys dont worry! I started getting them when i was 13 and by the time i was 18 they were totally faded. I couldnt wear shorts or low cut tops either for a while. I was in good shape but I had a really big butt and chest. There is not much you can do to escape them…whcih prob isnt what you wanna hear, but by taking care of your body (drinking LOTS of h20 and eathing healthy) your more likely to have less. And pretty much EVERYONE gets them at some point. good luck girls!

i developed all of a suuden and very quickly. i have strech marks on my calf muslces, tighs (inner and outer), bum and hips. i also have some on my boobs but they’re not as obvious! i enjoy sport and play football, i read on a website that playing sport can increase your chances of developing strech marks. even if i stop playing football i will gain weight and then il just get them from that.
i am very concious that if i bend over my top will ride up and they will be exposed and people will comment!
can u please suggest anything that really works and wil help heal my skin in the quickest most efficient way ?

I started getting them about 2 summers ago and it has literally only gotton worse since, lately i’ve noticed that i’ve stopped getting them but it is still very overwhelming. I have a boyfriend and im terrfied to show my body to him, of course we’ve been dating for 4 years now.
I really need help, this is bringing down my self esteem to a level i did not expect it too. If i could just get any information regarding creams or anything of that sort i would highly appreciate it.
Thank you.

I am going to be 24 and have dealt with stretch mark obsessions for years. I am now married and still hate them. I annoy my husband and friends because I incessantly complain even now. Just know that guys don’t care about them at all. My husband thinks I am retarded for even caring about them. I am not fat either. Most girls are too self-conscious to even notice anyone else, so don’t worry. THey will fade some. They will NEVER go away, and there is NO PERMANENT removal for them. Most likely there won’t be one any time soon either since celebs just airbrush theirs’ and it is not a medical condition.

Iam 16 i have a great body but i have stretch marks on my ass. Honestly there is nothing that can erase stretch marks, but i found that palmers stretch mark cream does reduce them considerably. If your still not happy get a fake tan not real as the stretched skin doesnt tan and it horrible what sun can do to your skin (who wants a wrinkled dry ass? Or worse skin cancer)

I have got stretch marks also, i really hate them and im only 18 ive had them since 16 when i hit puberty… im not fat i guess its one of those things when your body has a growth spurt you gain a few… they are still quite red which is annoyin and i cant go topless on beaches etc because i have 1 on my arm and 1 on my waist… grrr there are no cures for stretch marks either, only oils you can rub on to help prevent them… they do fade to a white colour which makes them less noticeable but unfortunatly they will stay with you forever.

Comment by Tom — April 25, 2008 @ 5:46 pm

I am 13 and weigh about 123 pounds. I’ve had stretch marks for a few months now. I am positive it’s because I gained too much weight when I went through puberty.. They stress me out so much and make me feel so self-conscious. I always have to skip my best friends birthday parties because they are always pool parties. I feel so bad because they are my best friend and I can’t go. Also, all my friends can were like the shortest shorts ever, but I can’t. I at least have to wear capris to cover them up. I have stretch marks on my inner thighs, calves, breasts, around my hips, and starting to get them right above my knee towards the area where both of my legs meet. It’s so embarrasing because when I go to school, I have to wear a skirt and it’s because I have to wear uniforms at my school. I don’t know for sure if anyone notices but they probably do because I have them on the back of my calves. And those are the one’s that I am so self-conscious about because they are the most noticable. I am so stressed out my these stretch marks and I’m always on the verge of crying almost everyday because I feel like I’m so fat and never going to have a nice figure. I feel like everyone I know thinks I’m fat but just doesn’t say anything. And every girl at my school is thinner than me. I just don’t know what to do anymore. I have heard of so many ’solutions’ for stretch marks but then right after that it says that it won’t do the best job. And I’m way to young to get any type of surgery and I also don’t have that kind of money. :/

Im not fat (im actaully slim/skinny. 45kg), I always eat nutritional food and exercise/yoga everyday. Why do I still get them??! and I dont wana get any surgies coz they cost at a lot and I hate surgery end of story). I am really desperate to get rid of them and pls tell me any good products or ways that can REDUCE them. yeah. i had bad stretch marks.
but they are going away now.
im not sure what exactly did it.
but i can tell you the things i tried.

1. mush banana to a pulp in bow (an little oil if needed) smear on stretchmarks. leave for as long as you can. (can be very expensive)
2. peanut butter. smeared on. leave for as long as possible.
3. after every single time you go to the bathroom, put a mixture of oil and lotion on the scars.
4. DRINK 9 GLASSES OF WATTER a day (friggin hard!)
5. run. [no seriously]
6. apply facial night cream.
7. eat nuts. [again, serious, with all the oil in it.] 9 may cause weight gain, but hey, pretty skin)
9. doing workouts. yeah.
10. i actualy dont have a tenth…i mean, not one that i actually think will work. i usually try and rub the skin. scratch the skin and when im in the shower, scrubb really hard where the stretch marks are.

ive done like, a mixture off all this and MOST of them [stretch marks] are, HARD to see. like. they are going away. but i have been doing this for…mmmm, maybe 7-9 months. but its getting better, just takes time.
but something must be working.

i had them pretty bad too and i heard that you can only lighten them when there red vitamine e oil, and exfoliating and drinking water i think helped me make them lighter. i’ve also been tanning alot lately and the shea butter in my tanning lotion may have done it aswell along with being browm i know its hard to wear a bathing suit but you should go out on your lawn and try to get a bit of sun on them it’ll make a big difference!

everyone here has something in common
“stretch marks” i have them but its sucks because there not exactly at the legs but on my breast which is embarrasing and i’ve tried

Vitamin e oil but it only made me have like red dots on my breast so that dint work

but you cant really get rid of them forever just cover up the marks or make them fade thats all anything would do to….

a while back i was asked to do some modelling and i was asked to do some beach shots.
i had to say no because i have these huge stretchmarks nearly everywhere on my legs.
they’re SO deep and red on the inside, and there are so many on my bum cheeks and going down the back of my thigh although they are more purple.
i need some help before it’s summer. i can’t go swimming and i just feel so depressed about it. please help.

Hello, im young and I have stretch marks. im not fat at all. And im going to the lake this weekend whats the best homemade way to get rid of them.. Please Help!!

Comment by Julie — June 23, 2008 @ 11:32 am

okay.im 15 and am going to be 16 in about a week.I am 125 lbs and I have stretch marks on the insides of my thighs and are threatenning to form on the back of my them. They are red and purpleish and show up fairly well against my white skin. I discovered them about 2 months ago and hate them with a passion. I am self-concious of them like every other girl who has written about theirs on here. But still i am wearing short shorts and am forcing myself to wear a bikini this summer ,because i know for a fact that my body is great for who i am.I don’t understand why i have them ,seeing as i am in 4 sports which pretty much requires running all the time and moving quickly, but I am embracing my body for what it is. My boyfriend knows that i have them and yet he still tells me that I am beautiful the way I am and to never change it and to top it off he’s the kind that are very critical to people who are well bigger. I have received wolf whistles while going out walking from guys so i know that i look great no matter what. I can’t wait for summer and the lake to get warmer so that i can put on my bikini and flaunt what I have.
What I am trying to get across (and I hope its slightly working at least)is don’t think of your flaws and about what other people are thinking of about you, think about what you love about your body and gain confidence in yourself, once you do that trust me it shows and you will start getting a few looks in your direction. Also guys dont care about your marks and if they do and they make a big deal or say something rude about it then they obviously care about your appearance more than what they should ,your personality.
Don’t worry so much about your appearance, love what you have and don’t ever forget it.

Hey, I’m 17 and have a bunch of stretch marks. I gained and lost weight really dramatically and got marks on my stomach, arms, hips and thighs. I hate wearing a swimsuit, and I can’t wear short sleeves or show my tummy!

If anyone has any tips or tricks to lose them, please tell me! I’ll so apprieciate it! Thanks a bunch! :)

im freakin 13 and i already have them. it sucks. i have a great boyfriend and all i want is to look good in a skirt and shorts around him but i am stuck wearing pants and a t-shirt. so i will try the coco butter. i will do any thing to get rid of these nasty things. all i want is to look good in a bicken. but with them on me i cant. there very embarrassing. im very outgoing and i do sports and work out. but they just seem to get bigger. im going to work out the same as i am. maybe i should just start eating healthier, and my mom doesn’t want to help. my stretch marks are on my arms thighs and back of my legs. i will use the coco butter. then start running and more push-ups. maybe that will work. but they are so embarrassing and ugly.

Hello everyone. I am 14 years old and i already have stretch marks. I cry about them almost everyday because i am so so emabarresed from my physical appearence. I have stretch marks in so many places. My mom sees me cry, and she always hugs me and tells me out of all her 7 brothers and sisters she was the skinniest one and still got stretch marks. She tells me that i am a beautiful girl inside and out, and that i shouldn’t care about them. But im afraid that we all care about them and when we see girls that are skinny, tanned and flawless it makes us sad that we were once like that and that stretch marks ruinedd it! I have been using this cocca and shea cream. I put it on at least 3-4 times a day. My mother also bought me bio oil, but i am waiting to finsih my cream because i do not want to mix the two products. Apperently REVITOL STRETCH MARK PREVENTION cream work. Anyways guys … keep in mind that we are all great people stretch marks and all!

Hey, just deal with it guys. Its not that big of a deal. I have stretch marks on my back, and I admit that Im not happy about them, but why would anyone care about stretch-marks? I think they can be kind of sexy on some women, so I don’t see whats so bad about them. just ignore it.

i’ve commented here before but i thought i’d come back and say something else
my stretch marks really affect me, i am ashamed of them and i’ve cried about them so many times
they make me feel so ugly, i can’t feel confident infront of a boy anymore
i’ve had them since just before last summer, and have attempted with the palmers cocoa butter and vapour rub and everything, and they haven’t faded and they’re rapidly increasing for some reason unknown to me, i’m not eating more than usual and i don’t eat that unhealthily anyway
i used to be a size 8 last year and am now only a size 10, i’ve gained a lot but still it seems unfair that i have really large friends and they don’t have them
my social life is getting affected by them too, sometimes i feel so depressed about them i just can’t face it
i’m going on holiday in a week and i’ve spent about a month looking for swimming costumes i can actually wear and i haven’t found any that will cover up the stretch marks on my thighs - they go as low as mid-thigh
does anyone know of any shops in the uk that sell swimming costume shorts or waterproof skirts/dresses?
i’ve been fake tanning and it hasn’t worked at all.
and i need a remedy to get rid of them before i actually kill myself!

Gosh this is so saddening.. We all have this same burdern and it truly is just depressing to see lots of girls not having these kinds of stretchmarks while you feel like you’re the only one having it..you can’t wear the clothes you would like to wear and it’s just SADDENINGGGGG.. I’m now 19 years old but these stretch marks at the back of my upper arms, lower back, and yeah, you guessed it, all over my BUTTOCKS started to appear I think when I was going 14 =’((( I feel so sad I’ve been trying this special but clearly expensive treatment for 6 months now and I noticed the stretchmarks in my back upper arms look less visible, but they’re still not completely erased! I NEVERR EXPECTED IT WOULD TAKE THIS LONG AND STILL THEY STILL AREN’T ALMOST GONE..They’re still there, but just a little visible.. But still, LOTS OF GIRLS don’t have this kind of stretchmarks. IT REALLY MAKES ME SAD =’((( BCOZ U DON’T HAVE THE FREEDOM TO DRESS AND FELL COMFORTABLE WITH YOUR BODY LIKE ME, I’M VERY TONED AND AND SOMEWHAT SEXY BUT THESE STRETCHMARKS MAKE ME FEEL BAD. I think it was due to my habit and I mean “HABIT” of working-out a lot as early as I was 12! I was very athletic but now the return for being this HEALTH-LOVING PERSON SEEMS TO BE THESE MONTER STRETCH MARKS =///////////////////////

Hey I’m 16 years old, and I also have stretch marks on my thighs. I’m not even fat (I think) and I’ve had them for 2 years now but it still really bothers me!!!

I’m too embarrassed to wear swim suits now…
But I’ll try the coca butter.

I’m also very glad that I’m not the only one with this problem! Good luck to everyone!!!

Comment by Andrea — August 7, 2008 @ 1:06 pm

I have read all your letters laides and let tell you something I have the same problem in some cases I played football for school and constilnly lifted weights, once I facture my leg (a crack in the bone) from lifting about close to 500 pounds of weights. I was out for 1 1/2 months and the marks hit me once i got back to weight lifting on my tights, inner arms, pecks, now i fell a little bad, but i will try the coca butter, but if i cant get rid of them time will and yes they dont look good, and physical attaction does play a key roll in geting the oposite sex attention. Though the only just one of many the most inportant is who you are and if a guy doesent accept you because of that tell him to fu*k off because relationships should be based on feelings for one another, not just attention to the body. I only hope that some day I can be lucky enought to find a girl who accepts me for who I am, I do not look the greatest in the world, but I am a man that sticks by his word and is ture to it. Now cheer up dont let this be the end of the world for you ladies because for me I plan to go in the future looking bright forward and there are many other men with problems simlar to yours. Also i am 18 and yes i am male.

Im 16 kinda overweight(but have been losing) and I have strech marks on my hips sides some on my breast under arms and on my shoulders , its a lie when they say “only fat people get “strechmarks” and the proof is in the post of most of these girls claiming to be thin , so stop that whole stereotype that only fat people get them, it sux because my sister is my size, and she has none whatsoever, I guess it really all has to do either with rapid weight loss or weight gain or a rapid growth spourt, I guess it happens to those that have rapid changes in there body, well I have been using olive oil, olive oil works it flattens and lightens them and makes them less seen

SO TRY THIS!!!!!!!!!!!
poor some olive oil in a bowl or somthing ,mix it with vasoline put it in the microwave for about 30-35 sec, and massage it into your body, it might not work for everyone because we all have different skin…. Good luck

Comment by Jazzmin — August 24, 2008 @ 7:36 am

Hi, I am 15 years old, like most of y’all here. I’ve had stretch marks, since I was like 12. I was not overweight then and not overweight now. In fact, I was skinny when I first had stretch marks. Now, I gained 20 pounds in the last 1.5 years, but I’m fit and active and definitely not overweight. I think my weight gain contributed to my stretch marks increasing. Now I have them not only in my inner thighs, I have them ON MY OUTER THINGS, BEHIND MY KNEES, ON MY EFFING CALVES. I can;t even wear capris anymore. I feel like a gross child. I feel like God did this to me so I can never wear shorts or go to the beach or feel good. Dammit, how am I EVER going to marry anyone?? No one’s gonna want to see my stretch marked legs. Plus, I use Bio-oil and I don’t think it works. But I’ll still do it cuz I got no other choice. and skin peel treatments or whatever the hell they are are too expensive. DAMN MY LIFE. Im sure yall feel the same way as me…

Comment by jadedgirl — September 5, 2008 @ 4:29 pm

Oh, and I even tried putting foundation and powder on my legs. It either looks fake and gross or doesn’t really conceal. Maybe I’ll try to lose a bunch of weight. But I really dont wanna do that. Im only gaining weight so I can get some boobs. i hate my body and I am not blessed at all. I hate those skinny chicks with big boobs and clear skin.. eff them. Maybe i’ll get a reallllly dark fake tan cuz my stretch marks are so red. i give up.

Stretch marks can be in the genes so this article isn’t too accurate. I eat pretty healthy and I have some stretch marks along my hips and my brother does too. It’s normal, it doesn’t mean you’re unhealthy unless you suddenly gained a lot of weight within a short amount of time.

There is no solution for it tho. Stretchmarks are like scars… i mean you can buy lotions for it and it might help to lighten them, but wont get rid of them for good!! :[ blahhh

don’t let stretch marks dominate your life like they have mine. i’ve thought about them nearly every night for the past year and a half or so and usually end up crying because i feel so ugly. treat them as soon as they appear, and maybe they’ll go. but not for me, because right now i’m sure they’ll never go away, after all it’s nearly been two years. i’ve given up as nothing has seemed to work. dieting seems to be the only choice i have now.
good luck all of you, we suffer together, and i just hope i still find a boy who will love me when he sees them.

i am 22 years old when i was a teen stretch marks hit me bad. Im a small girl i only weight 100lbs and am 5′7 .my mom gave me cocoa butter to help minimize them im still a bit uncomfortable because the ones on my bum never went away people ask if i was fat and lost weight and i get a bit embarrased but i did wanna share my secret for my legs because i love shorts and skirts my legs had pretty bad ones when i grew and they r gone :) i’m trying this technique on my bum but its not as easy to do since its not really ever exposed lol! ok i used to work at a surf camp so when i started tanning i would get really dry and so i used the cocoa butter at night to moisterize. Because of the constant tanning the skin cells shaffed of and new layer kept replacing them i think it minimizeed the apperance. Tanning and constant moisterising … it helped me hope this works for some of u if ur really light skined i dont reccomend it but it might work hope it helps.

I haven’t sufferred stretch marks myself but am realising what a big issue they are for those who have them. From my own research it is unlikely they will completely disappear. I think it is best to try and prevent them in the first place, where ever possible. One of the home made remedies, which at least makes it easy and inexpensive, I have found is this one. Hope it helps.
- 1/2 cup virgin olive oil
- 1/4 cup aloe vera gel
- Liquid from 6 capsules of Vitamin E
- Liquid from 4 capsules of Vitamin A
Mix all the ingredients together in a blender. Pour the mixture into a jar and store it in the fridge. Apply the oil to the skin where the stretch marks commonly appear which is usually the stomach, thighs, legs and breasts. If you do this every day, you may prevent stretch marks.

Hi everyone (: I’m 14 & I have stretch marks too, I’m a size 10 in clothes (uk) and I get them at the top of my legs and on my bum and boobs.

HOWEVER

I’ve done nothing whatsoever but ignore them & they have started to fade. The ones that were on my boobs, have completely gone & the ones on my legs are starting to fade. I dont think there’s really anything you can do, it’s just all part if growing up & you’ve gotta learn to ignore them & focus on the parts of your body that ARE nice, rather than the bits that aren’t (: xxxx

me out (i only wear shorts at night lol). and it really doesnt help that my best friend has like a perfect body curvy with barely any strech marks.

i used to have them on my boobs but finally they went away and you cant even see them.

but while i had them on my breasts i always put makeup on them if i wanted to wear a low cut top or something.

please EMAIL ME about so things that have helped you minimize them or prevent them.

and has anyone but me notice that most of these people are girls. even tho guys get them too. guys are so much more carefree i wish i could have their attitude about my body:(

Hey guys,

I am so surprised to hear that so many at such a young age are developing stretch marks. I would like to say first that I know how you feel, I first noticed mine when I was 12. Though I haven’t gotten rid of mine completely, I have learned that you can reduce their appearance a lot. Before I tell you how though I do want to say a few things first, you are lucky if you do what I say while you are younger as your skin is younger as well so that’s great. Second, a little background just so that you understand the idea behind what I am about to tell you to do: Stretch marks occur under the surface layer of the skin, which is what makes them so hard to heal, what you need to do is find a way to shed your outer layer so that the lower layer of your skin becomes your new upper layer and is 1. easier to heal and 2. as new skin grows back the appearance of damaged skin is less noticeable. I want to mention one last thing, when you first expose the inner layer of your skin you will see the stretch marks better that is because they are exposed. DON’T BE DISCOURAGED, once new skin begins to grow, you will see results. ok so this is what you do. 1. take a hot shower. This is important bec you want your skin to be moist and your pores to open. Dont start right away, let the steam get to your skin first. oh maybe I should have mentioned this first, your going to need a scrubber and a rough one, I use the rough side of CVS brand dish sponge - make sure to wet it first! this thing is really rough. Now let me warn you of something else, the first time I did this I was in pain after, you don’t feel it at first but believe me even the smallest pressure is working to remove the top layer of skin, don’t go crazy what you want to do is use a shower gel with a moisturizer in it (preferably with aloe) and in a circular motion move the sponge over the area with stretch marks. If you do it too long and hard it will hurt later. If by chance you do break skin too much please buy Mederma so that you dont scar. After your shower dry your skin and apply an aloe gel or oil (I like the oil because it is purer in its aloe content). After your shower your skin should be a healthy pink (assuming you didn’t go too far) and you will see your stretch marks clearer. Like I said, don’t despair. Your going to need to give your skin at least three days of downtime to regrow. You can help it do so, I have seen really great results with Captiva sm (they are giving away free trials) but you can do your own research on what stretch mark creams really help. make sure to apply them after your shower. using a soft sponge this time (remember this is your rejuvenating days so you dont want to hurt your skin again) slightly exfoliate with a circular motion the affected area and then dry and apply the cream. For the first month, I would say to exfoliate with the hard sponge once a week. This doesn’t have to be the same day of the week and in fact it’s better if it’s not because your skin will respond better if it cant predict when it needs to prompt new skin growth (just a theory though). Later on, you want to use your own judgment on how often you would like to do this. Do this the rest of your life. Good luck! and please let me know how it goes. One more tip. If you’ve given your skin sufficient time to heal and want to shed skin but not too much during downtime there is a product that you can use in between called Reytnol. It has been used to smooths wrinkles, but helps for stretch marks as well. The product I got is from Israel, I don’t think they sell is here, but I’m sure you could get it online. It is a bit expensive though (around 60 bucks) but worth it bec you have to use very little. Its called SHOVALA from Gold Cosmetics and should be used at night after a shower and slight exfoliation. There is a milder one simply called ANTI STRETCH MARKS same company, and that one I’ve been applying when I wake up. Don’t use too much of it as they do shed and tighten skin and may hurt a bit.
Hope this helps…

Alot of people have stretch marks while going through puberty and gaining weight , im 14 years old, and i’ve learnt that the best remedy is dieting obviously, losing weight is the key drinking more water, eating mroe fruit and vegetables, usuing cocoa butter cream work to soothe the skin, exfoliating the skin removes the broken tissues, and exercise (running, doing chores, dancing to music be creative). Because i’ve learnt that stretch marks dont ‘just’ disappear you have to take time to ”reduce” them, or get rid of most of the marks, patience and determination is neccessary, therefore steady does it.

The opening paragraph of this article is disgusting. How dare you profess to have the best interest of women in mind with such closed minded attempts at curing their ‘ailment’. Stretch marks are generally a cause of the stretching of the skin due to rapid weight loss and/or gain. You are dealing with young women reading this article…sensitive women…and you can only dissolve one’s self esteem over time by such lies at a cure, when you, the writer, know very well that the marks are permanent…and are to become part of one’s character for life. Nothing is wrong with marks upon the skin…it’s shallow individuals who make such statements as ’stretch marks are unsightly…and must be gotten rid of…’ that is wrong. Please think twice about the message of superficiality that you are presenting to sensitive audiences. Women deserve to be loved as they have been brought into nature…so please learn to do so, yourself.
Thank you,
Kmm.

Hi. I’m 13 and a little overweight. My doctor says that my weight is nothing to be worried about, my heart, lungs, liver, etc. are completely healthy, and that by the time my next growth spurt happens, I should thin right out.

A lot of people have told me that.

I have stretch marks on my hips, thighs, boobs, and upper arms. I’ve been doing some research on this and many girls, when they go through puberty, have this problem, too.

I’m just so embarassed to wear shorts or skirts. Thank God summer’s almost over because then I won’t have to worry about swimsuits anymore.

I eat healthy, I run, I walk to and from school, and I weight train (probably not the best idea for the stretch marks, but it boosts my metabolism, which is good to maintain my weight). I’m kinda embarassed to tell my parents I’m having this problem.

Help?

I had read some good things about the Made from Earth Aloe Jojoba Creme Therapy and it’s ability to smooth out older stretch marks and cellulite. I was skeptical yet hopeful and I can say that after three weeks of applying only once a day, this has in fact smoothed out and drastically reduced the appearance of the stretch marks on my legs.

I’ve been using this product for about a month now and I noticed a difference in the smoothness or texture of the stretch marks on my arms too. I read the many reviews about this product and heard good things. I don’t expect the marks to disappear completely, but there definitely is a SIGNIFICANT difference. All I can say is I will be buying this product again. Its way worth the money for only $30 a bottle.

I am going to now try the Made from Earth Aloe Skin Treatment which is designed for the face and can help with wrinkles. I highly recommend the Aloe Jojoba Creme Therapy (from Made from Earth skincare) for those ladies who are looking to reduce cellulite or stretch marks. Use for 1-2 months. You will see perm results.

I’m 13 and i have stretch marks. I have them on my hips and some on my breasts. Its hard cuz…i look around and all my friends has their cute little pretty sretch mark free body. I’m not even fat. My sister says its cuz i grew up fast. I just hate the feeling of putting on a bikini. I am terrified of judgment -_- Thats the top 2 things i hate about myself. I sometimes think of dying cuz ik their r alot of flaws on me and some ppl point out flaws on me that aren’t even true…but i hold it in….

I’m a 14 year old girl who loves to wear dresses/shorts/skirts but i have bad stretch marks on my calf muscles, my hips, my bum, the back of my knee & REALLY bad stretch marks all around the top my thigh.. i get really self conscious with them & whenever we do swimming at school i always try to sneak into the pool the quickest so no-one can see. I’m so embarrassed about them, i’ve told my mum & she just says it’s all part of growing up & they aren’t that bad or noticeable either but i know myself they are there.. please help me.

I have stretch marks too. Ive had them for about 2-3 years now. Im 15. I see a dermatologist for my acne and I was asking him about the stretch marks. He said theres nothing you can do. I told him about the palmers cocoa butter creme thats supposed to help and he said that it really wouldnt do anything. I guess it makes sense, because it didnt do anything when I tried it. I hate this. I feel so self concious. And im not getting plastic surgery to get rid of it. Any tips?

The best thing to do is use cocoa butter lotion like palmers. Many people say it doesnt work but you have to give it time. The stretch marks aren’t going to go away in a couple of days, theyre not even going to go away completely. Also before you go in the shower dry brush your skin especially where you have stretch marks or cellulite then take a shower and apply lotion after. When you go to sleep go to sleep in like shorts and a tank top DONT EVER GO TO SLEEP IN JEANS!!! This was my mistake. Another thing you can do is exercise and eat a lot of food that has proteins. Do a lot of leg and butt exercises to tone your skin. This will decrease the appearance. You just have to be patient and over time they will go away. so be patient ppl and dont be embarassed almost every one has them somewhere especially women. hope i helped :D
