If you think this is another article saying things on how to get those six-pack-abs, you’re right. But hear me out: if you are not interested in getting that abs, you wouldn’t be here in the first place right? Most of the time, there are so many tips out there that you just don’t know what to do. You get confused because there are so many people saying there are tricks that you can do to have those abs that you really want. After following them, you get frustrated since there are no effects to your body whatsoever.
Instead we will erase everything that we’ve learned and go back to the basic principle of getting those abs through working out, and maintaining a proper diet. That’s it, and there are no tricks or secrets.

You may be thinking of the work you will have to do in order to get those abs. Most of the time people will just concentrate on their abs and forget about the other parts of the body because they think it’s already ok. You can do that, but never in many years will you be able to get the flab out of your body if you just concentrate on crunches and nothing else. Great abs comes with a great body, and this is important to remember. You need to work on your body to have those abs. Maybe you work on other parts of your body a little but you can’t get the abs if you don’t exercise every part of your body. Jogging is a great exercise for the whole body. You can do the 30-minute run every day and do your crunches. These are small steps but once you get the hang of it, your abs will be on its way.
Next is a proper diet. Doing all those exercises without looking out for what you eat is useless. You need to control the calorie content in your body. Foods cooked in oil, junk foods and foods with too much sugar have calories stamped on their foreheads. Remember that if you want to have great abs you need to lose as much weight as you can. Controlling what you eat should be coupled with exercise. In this way, instead of stacking on calories, you lose them with exercise. Doing this continuously will shed most of the weight in your body and develop your abs.
Lastly is conviction and patience. The simple steps that you have just read are very easy at the start, but are very hard once you get in the system and see no results. It might be in the genes that you will not get those abs, but I tell you, with patience you will have those abs after months of training. Gaining them very fast could happen, but losing them fast is likely as well. Slowly gaining them will make your body adopt better.
Once you’ve gained the abs that you really want, stick to it with the same exercises that you did in the beginning. If you lose the abs again, it’s going to be a lot harder the next time you want them back.

I agree with general body exercize for developing great Abs. What I try to do with my work-outs is conbine 30 minutes of a general aerobic type kick boxing and then a 20 or 30 minute focus on an abdominal tape routine. So, I actually do both and not just plain Ab work. As far as diets and foods, I believe that we are bombarded with food commerials and even young children so the eating subliminal message gets implanted into our heads. The other way to reverse the effect is to do positive growth seminars, listening to motivating tapes or cassetts, and to develop a positive routine. Dedicate at least 20 minutes of quiet time to yourself and go out for a walk, ride a bike, fly a kite, walk your pet etc. There are many positive routines that we can do to nurture ourselves and bring focus to our health and breeak away from the TV propaganda.
