Anti-aging Skin Care - Keys To The Elixir Of Youth

Let us face it: We are a mortal, and eternal youthful beauty is our wishful thinking. Still, we will not stop trying to be as youthful as we possibly can. This is attested to by the success of anti-aging skin care formulas that sell like pancakes. It seems to be one of the most viable businesses in the world, as every aging woman on earth seems to be concerned enough about their appearance to shell out a considerable amount of money just to try the latest product that claims to contain the elixir of youth which was even portrayed by various movies such as Goldie Hawn’s “Death Becomes Her.”

Anti aging skin care products are quite demanding, if you analyze it properly. It will make you spend a lot of money to maintain it, and at the same time, compels you to spend considerable efforts and time to apply everything as religiously as you can. Also, anti aging skin care products contain a lot of secret ingredients, which may or may not have a side effect on your skin or body in the long term. The thing with buying anti aging skin care products is that it makes you rely on the product for as long as you can afford it. But it will never really erase time and eventually the wrinkles will have to come up no matter how hard you try to conceal it.

Anti aging skin products often come in packages. You can never experience its true effect on your skin unless you buy the entire package of a collection. Buying creams individually may sabotage your attempts to have flawless and youthful looking skin and may even accelerate the wrinkles’ arrival on your face. Aside from being religious with following instructions, you must be able to stick to the brand you started out with it if you want the optimum results and least likelihood of incompatible ingredients mingling on your already aging skin. Consequently, anti aging skin care products are usually applied for the face only, although there are also skin firming lotions for the rest of the body if you really want an even anti aging regimen for all body parts.

Anti aging skin care products may for a season help reduce the laugh lines, wrinkles and spots brought about by aging. You may religiously follow the line of products which claim to make you look younger than actual. Or maybe you may even go to the extent of having surgery just to keep your face in its elastic and young condition. But the ultimate form of anti aging care which you can have inside as well as outside is in keeping your body fit and eating right regardless of your age. When you live a full life and maintain your body’s physique with vitality and aplomb, all the laugh lines become invisible and wrinkles will hardly come up because you will be too busy exuding joy to even consider the dastardly thought.

Anti-aging skin care products are indeed great but not cheap solution to prolong the youth of the skin. But don’t forget that they won’t work that effectively if you don’t eat natural foods!

Thanks for a refreshing post. I do use my products religiously (with names like relastin, timewise, or hope in a jar it’s hard not to hope that they will work!). What exactly is meant by eating natural foods? No extra chemicals in them? Please explain.

I agree with Nicole’s comments. Anti-aging technology is extremely advanced, but we must keep in mind the huge affect of diet. Keeping up a healthy intake of water, fruits and vegetables is a must. If skin condition is of particular concern, include super-foods such as avocado, garlic, nuts and plenty of water in your diet. :-)

It’s true that “you are what you eat”. Once a person reaches about 40 you can almost tell who smokes, eats too much sweets and processed foods and who doesn’t take care of their skin just by casual observation.

I worked for years in the cosmetic department of a major department store chain in the US and am use to looking at skin. I have also observed that using many of the anti-aging products have done wonders for keeping one looking young. Just look at pictures of your grandparents or great grandparents. Chances are “grandma” at 40 looked like “mom” at 60. And, what you may not think of is that now days there is more to damage the skin than ever before in the environment. The UV rays are more harmful, our food is more processed and we damage our skin by sitting in front of computers. There is more out there to age us, yet we look younger. One reason is because of so many anti-aging skincare products.

What is it about smoking and eating bad food that makes the skin look older? I know what you mean about observation. Healthy folks that take care of themselves almost look like they have a glow about them. Whereas people that smoke alot and do not eat right, have a sullen, almost gray look to them. Let alone the wrinkles that seem to occur way to ealy on smokers.
There are things they can do to get rid of that appearance. First. Obivously, stop smoking. That more than any other factor, seems to give people that unhealthy look. I tried this stuff called genisphere. It is an anti wrinkle cream the does work and does eliminate wrinkles. After I stopped smoking 2 years ago, I finally started eating right and lost some weight and I can see I am getting back that rosy glow I once had before I started smoking. You can get better. Just need to take care of yourself.

I’ll have to agree with Nicole, you have to eat the right foods first and then cremes and other products will better serve your anti-aging needs.. Try eating an alvacado everyday for improved skin tone - it works!

Well I also agree with Nicole on this point but I think that anti aging creams work if we pay attention and choose the most suitable one for our skin. I have spent a lot of money buying expensive creams and having standard results until recently I discovered a cream from Neal’s yard remedies which uses Frankincense in a natural recipe which makes my skin feel so smooth and rejuvenated.

The avocado suggestion sounds great - I love them! The reason there are so many different kinds of anti-aging skin care products out there is (1) they sell like crazy so companies keep cranking them out, and (2) not every product works the same on every person.

You need to try different products to see what works best with your skin. It can get expensive unless you can find a nice source for samples. Sometimes it seems like nothing will work, and then bingo! :-)
