Other medical conditions that can cause abdominal cramps are: gallstones; gastroenteritis or stomach flu; heartburn; the ingestion of parasites like giardia iamblia; hernia; inflammatory bowel disease, the accumulation of intestinal gas; IBS or irritable bowel syndrome; kidney stones; liver cancer; the onset of ovarian cysts and ovarian cancer; pancreatic cancer; pancreatitis; peptic ulcer; PSC or primary sclerosing cholangitis; stomach cancer; and ulcerative colitis.
Treatments of abdominal cramps can be as easy as popping a pain pill. However, with the severity of some of these aforementioned medical conditions, it would be best to have the doctor correctly diagnose your condition. Even the seemingly innocuous condition of being lactose intolerant cannot be cured by a pain pill.
