Is Your PS3 Gaming System About To Die?

The PS3 game system is a work of art from top to bottom. It is amazing how so many tiny little parts can send the incredible PS3 games blazing up onto our television or computer screens. The gaming systems have come a long ways since the early days with Atari, Sega, NES, and so on. Not only are the games much more advanced with systems like the PS3, X-Box 360, and Wii, but the problems are a whole lot more common and expensive as well.

I remember my old Nintendo was so tough that it survived numerous drops off the side of my bed back in the day. Try that with a PS3. Ironically, those same wonders of modern technology are the culprits behind the fragile nature of the PS3. There is simply a whole lot more to break, and a whole lot of small fragile parts.

With that said, the PS3 has a number of common symptoms of danger that arise when something is not working, or not working correctly. Would you be able to recognize the symptoms of a PS3 problem such as a failed hard drive? If not, then read on and I will share with you some of the more common signs that something may be wrong with your PS3.

Has your PS3 begun to lose saved games for no good reason? What about freezes in games? This is often a sign of what is called data corruption. Simply put, this is when the heads of the hard drive start reading the wrong areas because they are off track. Though freezes and the occasional loss of data are not necessarily a guarantee of hard drive problems, this should not be happening often. For anything more than a couple times a month you should probably get the system checked out.

Load times are also a strong area to keep a watch out for PS3 symptoms. If your PS3 is taking a very long time to load games, then it is likely the beginning of the end for your PS3 hard drive. Some slow loads are inevitable, but it should not take twice as long as it used to. Pay close attention to this problem, as you are likely about to need to change the failing hard drive in the PS3.

Another common symptom of a failing hard drive is a very annoying clicking sound coming from the hard drive. It is very common to not even hear this sound due to the very loud fan on the PS3, but if you listen carefully you will hear this symptom of hard drive failure. This is the most common and obvious symptom of hard drive problems with the PS3 and should be checked out immediately. This is almost always the result of a hard drive that is bad, or going bad.

The symptoms of problems with a PS3 are pretty much when the system does anything that it did not do when you got it home. The system is built to work in a certain way, and it is important that you keep your eyes and ears open for any problems. Though sometimes you are lucky and it is only the game disc itself, you should still pay close attention to any unusual symptoms that your PS3 might show. The PS3 is entirely too expensive to ignore potential problems.
