Google was literally flooded with searches this week from curious internet surfers wanting to see the latest Tim McGraw video. The award winning country music star gave fans a little added performance at his June 24th concert.
The concert at the White River Amphitheater in Auburn, Washington started out just as any other power packed performance that McGraw has given. Until, the country star turned white knight and flew to the aid of a female fan.
News reports state that in the middle of Indian Outlaw, McGraw saw the female being harassed by a rowdy man. McGraw quickly reacted in calling for security, but when they weren’t fast enough, he started pulling the guy up on stage.
Several of the crew members joined in to help and held the guy until security came to take him back stage. The man was reportedly drunk and had gotten a little out of hand and attacked the woman.
A tense moment occurred between the two, and McGraw was reported to have drawn back his fist, although no punches were thrown. The man was turned over to authorities, but no charges were pressed.
McGraw’s band evidently had no doubt that the Grammy winner could take care of himself, they never missed a beat throughout the incident. And, once security had taken custody of the eager fan, McGraw picked up where he’d paused and finished the song!
Kind of ironic that the “wrestling match” happened during the performance of Indian Outlaw. In the song McGraw is the one that gets caught with running water in his hand!
While McGraw is famous for his humanitarian efforts, most stars would have stood back and let security handle the matter. He must be commended for his selfless actions in racing to the aide of someone in danger with no thought of his own safety!
The man, a long time fan of McGraw admitted to having a few drinks, but said that he wasn’t drunk. When McGraw grabbed his hand and began pulling him up on the stage, he thought that he was going to get to join in a dance with his country idol!
Even after being pulled from the crowd and removed from the amphitheater before the show was over, he later stated that the next time McGraw was performing a concert nearby that he’d definitely attend.
However, after seeing the story on the news and all over the internet, Nirschl has evidently had some second thoughts. The humiliated fan told one news source that he was thinking about taking legal action.
Nirschl wanted to set the story and tell his side, he claimed that he’d tripped over a chair and was just leaning over to grab his hat. He said that he did not intentionally grab anyone and didn’t mean to hurt anyone.
The Kent, Washington man is a construction worker and a single father who is raising his three year old daughter on his own. Nirschl has no criminal record and had attended the concert with his mother.
He also claims that the country star called him personally two days after the heated incident. But, McGraws publicist had no comment on the phone call.
