Trying to pick the top five funniest scenes in movie history is a daunting, if not impossible task. After careful consideration, I have come up with the five scenes that I find to be the funniest. I am sure you will have others, so feel free to leave them in the comments below. This list represents oceans of laughter to me, and if you have missed any of them you should run right out and get them.
Here are my top five funniest scenes in movie history in no particular order:
Bruce Almighty
Evan Baxter played by the hilarious Steve Carell, is hijacked on-air by comedy king Jim Carrey. Jim Carrey is given the powers of God, and he uses them in incredibly funny ways. None are funnier than when he gets revenge on Steve Carell, who plays Bruce’s competition for a television anchor position at the news studio. When Baxter goes live, Bruce forces him to make all kinds of silly comments, noises, farts, and whistles. Watching Carells facial expressions will literally make you pee yourself if you are not careful.
Monty Python and The Holy Grail
The Black Knight Losing Limbs is easily among the funniest moments in movie history. Throughout the fight he stays defiant, in spite of losing arms and legs. The final funny moment is when he agrees to “call it a draw” after being left with no limbs to fight with. The dry humor is classic Python.
There’s Something About Mary
The Ben Stiller Zipper Scene is easily the highlight of this movie, and that is saying alot given the funny parts throughout. Stiller finally gets his prom date with Cameron Diaz, and gets his penis stuck in his 1970’s leisure suit pants right before leaving.
American Pie 2
The Porn Tape Affair is legendary. It is the best moment in movie history as far as funny. Jason Biggs decides to get a little self love with a porn tape that Stiffler brings him, and instead gets more than he bargained for. When preparing for the event, he gets the lube mixed with the super glue on the night stand. Yes, he gets stuck, and then proceeds to get the tape stuck in the other hand while trying to hide the tape. Then he eventually is caught on the roof, with tape and other in hand. You must see this scene if you want to laugh for days.
Zoolander
Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson have a walk-off and the facial expressions are legendary. Nobody does physical comedy better, and Owen Wilson is the perfect compliment to the great Stiller. The whole idea of a walkoff is hilarious to start with, but they take it to new heights.
