She hit the world with her debut album Goodies back in September 28, 2004 revitalizing hip-hop to the point where everybody was ready to bring their dancing shoes back out. They call her the princess of crunk and R&B, making her mark with hit singles, Goodies, Oh featuring Ludacris, One Two Step. Ciara was like a breath of fresh air giving teens something new to bump to and enjoy sending a positive message. The “newbie” was able to go on tour with teen sensations like Bowow and Chris Brown, and with Gwen Stefani. In July she released the DVD video of all of her videos.

Unlike many new artists Ciara had a chance to make musical appearances in some of the hottest artists records such as Missy Elliot. She sang the vocals in Missy’s song “Lose Control” which was definitely at the top of the Hot 100 Billboard. She also sang alongside ex-boyfriend Bowow in the song “Like You” which was another big hit. Her talents were realized by several. She has the dance moves and the voice to move crowds, which is why she is still around.

Yes, she still in the game and is back after starring in a MTV movie entitled All You’ve Got and doing an ad campaign alongside other stars in the clothing and shoe line Candies. In December 5, 2006 her sophomore album Evolution will be in stores. Her single from the album “Promise” is already out and her fans are loving it. The album features production from Jazze Pha, singer and rapper Pharell, Will.I.am and Sean Garret.

The Girl Behind the Fame

What many people may not know is that the R&B singer has not always been representing ATL or Atlanta Georgia. Born in Austin Texas, she grew up in Nevada, New York, Germany, and Arizona since her father was in the United States Army. It wasn’t until she saw a performance of Destiny Childs on television that she knew for sure that she wanted to be a singer. So she quit the cheerleading squad at her school then and joined a young all girl group that sang R&B named Hearsay. She was able to work on her songwriting and her choreography. Later on she quit the group Hearsay and found Jazze Pha who then helped her from there on.

Bowow and Ciara Breakup

Bowow (Shad Gregory Moss) and Ciara relationship has been publicized from day one. They were featured in the Vibe magazine and Ebony as one of the hottest young couples. When Ciara was spotted wearing a diamond ring, people thought the couple were engaged after being together for a year. But as Bowow said it was just a gift. The couple had been extremely close to the point where both of their families were bonding. When Bowwow was spotted with another girl in Los Angles rumors of a breakup quickly spread and they were said to be true by a spokesperson for Ciara. It was said that the couple split because Bowwow was found in a room with a stripper. We don’t know how true that is even though on his recent appearance on Hot 97 he didn’t deny those accusations. Anyway the two longtime friends plan to keep things cool after all they had a deep history.

Then and Now

Despite it all the rumors and the break up, Ciara has made her title in the hip hop world. And from the looks of things it’s definite that she is here to stay. Stay tuned because you will definitely be hearing more about this one.
