They met on the set of ‘The Breakup.’ You thought that would be enough to teach them the perils of a relationship bring. And this just wasn’t just any relationship either. This was two mega superstars in Jennifer Aniston and Vince Vaughn. The pair issued a statement to People Magazine that said, “”After Jennifer’s trip to London several weeks ago, Jennifer and Vince mutually agreed to end their relationship but continue to be good friends today.”
The real life breakup comes after tabloids had snapped photos of Vaughn and a mystery blonde kissing. The pair suffered the of the tabloids spotlight for many months with claims of weddings and babies that never materialized. It had gotten to the point where even Aniston was accused by her own family to be hiding facts of the relationship. “Normally we don’t even acknowledge these things, because they’re endless,” Aniston said, “but at this point, the thing that got me was that I was getting phone calls from Greece! My Aunt Mary in Greece is getting accused of lying! I mean, they’re getting angry. My dad calls and he says, ‘Honey, it’s on the CNN crawl,’ and I’m going, ‘Wait a second!’
They had never been truly open about the relationship to the media (maybe that’s why there was so much hype about them in the first place) but were rumored to be an item as early as 2005. Despite not showing up to big events like premiers together they would be spotted at things like sporting events looking like a happy couple. Vaughn had been previously linked to actress Joey Lauren Adams. Aniston was no stranger to high profiles couplings as she was married to Brad Pitt which ended in divorce in 2005.
