If you thought that Johnny Depp’s roles couldn’t get any better than Jack Sparrow in the Pirates of the Caribbean series or Willy Wonka in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, think again. This time, Johnny Depp will be starring in Tim Burton’s new Alice in Wonderland movie as none other than the mad hatter. Johnny Depp definitely has the “mad” part down - and most would agree that the actor would look pretty attractive in a top hat.
Johnny Depp isn’t the only celebrity that you’ll recognize who will be starring in Alice in Wonderland. Mia Wasikowska, who plays Alice, is a fairly new face to the big screen. However, there are quite a few other celebrities who will have roles in the film. Anne Hathaway will play the White Queen and Michael Sheen will play the White Rabbit. Many of the celebrities that have minor roles are likely to be actors and actresses that you will recognize from smaller roles in other films.
There are also a few celebrities from The Harry Potter series that will star in this film. The Red Queen will be played by Helena Bonham Carter, who plays Bellatrix Lestrange in the Harry Potter movies. Alan Rickman, who plays Professor Snape in the Harry Potter series, will have a role as the Caterpillar. Stephen Fry, the narrator of the Harry Potter movies, will play the Cheshire Cat.
It is likely that this version of Alice in Wonderland is going to be unlike what you have ever seen before. Disney is actually releasing the movie, but this version of the film is expected to be much closer to the book than many of the other Alice in Wonderland movies which have been released in the past. The movie will be focused on both Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass. If you are an enthusiast of the books written by Lewis Carroll, it is likely that this version of the film will be right up your alley. It should be interesting to see how closely the movie does resemble the film, without wandering too far from what we have come to know as Alice in Wonderland.
According to IMDB, Alice in Wonderland is currently in post-production. As of right now, the movie is expected to be released in March of 2010. Until then, Johnny Depp fans may want to indulge in one of his other new movies. Public Enemies, which is based on a true story about American gangsters, will be in theaters on July 1st, 2009. The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus, which is the last film that Heath Ledger has a role in, will be released on September 4th, 2009. Aside from Johnny Depp, other actors that have roles in this film include Colin Farrell and Jude Law. They all took over Heath Ledger’s role, and agreed to donate the money that they earn from it to his daughter, Matilda.

Sorry to see you deleted a perfectly nice comment regarding the fact that Battlestar Galactica was NOT canceled as your article/post/blog incorrectly states. Since all the actual fans of that show already know this I just thought you shouldn’t pollute the minds of those who have yet to discover the television excellence that is BSG. It was concluded by the producers, the network Sci-Fi and the production company, NBC Universal were more than willing to renew the show for a new season.
Get your facts strait next time. Also, quit deleting comments you seem to take offense to that are not actually offensive…. otherwise what the frak is the point??
