On June 25, 2009, something very shocking happened. Michael Jackson, the King of Pop, passed away. A lot of information about the singer’s death has been circulating on the internet. It seems that just like Elvis Presley, Marilyn Monroe, Heath Ledger, and Anna Nicole Smith, Michael Jackson may have died due to a drug overdose. Other issues, such as why the doctor who lived in his home disappeared by the time the police arrived, and why Jackson was allowed to receive such high dosages of prescription drugs, have been in question.
In the midst of the shocking suddenness of Michael Jackson’s death, another celebrity’s death was ignored by much of America, however. Farrah Fawcett also died on June 25th, 2009, but Michael Jackson’s death has overshadowed her passing. The main difference between the deaths of Michael Jackson and Farrah Fawcett is that hers was not at all a shock. Farrah Fawcett had been very sick for quite some time. Farrah Fawcett, who was 62 years old, died after a three year struggle with anal cancer.
Farrah Fawcett was an Icon in the world of entertainment just as Michael Jackson was. The actress is the most well known for her role in Charlie’s Angels, which she starred in with Jaclyn Smith and Kate Jackson.
Farrah Fawcett also played in a number of movies that were made for television. Although there were many movies which did not become well known enough to enhance her career, there were some which became quite popular. The Burning Bed, which is a movie about an abused wife that was made during the 1980’s, still airs on the Lifetime movie network from time to time. The actress was often regarded as one of the most beautiful celebrities in history.
According to People News, Farrah Fawcett’s life motto was, “That’s life. Everything has positive and negative consequences.”
The celebrity was married to Lee Majors, who is well known for his role in The Six Million Dollar Man. She lived with her long-time partner, Ryan O’Neal, for seventeen years. Farrah Fawcett also had one son with him, who is named Redmond O’Neal. Redmond is currently incarcerated due to charges of possession of narcotics.
Ryan O’Neal told People News, “She’s gone. She now belongs to the ages. She’s now with her mother and sister and her God. I loved her with all my heart. I will miss her so very, very much. She was in and out of consciousness. I talked to her all through the night. I told her how very much I loved her. She’s in a better place now.”
Michael Jackson and Farrah Fawcett died on the same day as one another. Even though his death was much more shocking, let us not forget that Farrah Fawcett played a major role in the world of entertainment as well.
