Are you on a high school sports team or in a club? Or perhaps you simply need to think of ways for your senior class to raise money for the class trip or prom. No matter what the case is, you may need to think of some type of organizational fundraiser. Here are some different fundraiser ideas for high school students.
Car Wash
If your high school is located on a main road, then you may be able to easily do a car wash. Keep in mind that if your school is not located on a main road, there may be a business that is willing to lend you their parking lot for the car wash. All that you will need are some hoses, buckets, soap, and sponges. A car wash works best when you have about fifteen students. Allow two people to work on each car and one to collect money. Be sure to rotate who is collecting money so that certain people aren’t doing all the work. Charge five to ten dollars per car in order to ensure that you will receive the greatest amount of customers.
Candy Bars or Lollipops
There are a variety of different companies which do candy bar or lollipop fundraisers. The best thing about selling candy bars and lollipops is that people have a constant need for sweets. You will usually be able to generate between a fifty and sixty percent profit. Have all of the people from the club or team take the candy bars or lollipops to their classrooms and you will be sure to see them sell like hotcakes! If someone knows how to make homemade candy, you can consider having a homemade candy sale and will be able to earn a one hundred percent profit. Be sure to clear this with the principal and teacher, however.
Bake Sale
Arrange a day at the school when you can have a bake sale. The best place to do this would be in the cafeteria or gymnasium. All that you need to do is have a few people make some baked goods, such as cookies, brownies, cakes, and pies. Line up all of the baked goods on tables and put prices on them. Most of it will get sold. Also keep in mind that if it is around Valentine’s Day, Halloween, or any other holiday, the baked goods will probably sell more if you decorate them according to the holiday. A game of “musical cake” can also be a great idea for a bake sale. This would be best in a gymnasium. Raffle off some tickets for a few dollars to enter the competition. The contestants will rotate in a circle that has one less chair than it does people. When the music stops, one person gets eliminated and a chair gets removed until there is only one person left. The winner will win a baked good. For $2 per admission ticket, you should earn about $20 per baked good.
There are some really great fundraising options out there for high school students. If you need to find a way to earn money for your club, team, or even your high school class, it is important to keep in mind that there are a wide variety of fundraiser options available to you. In doing these good deeds, you may even learn something to help with your future career choices!

Thanks for the ideas. My kids are always looking for ways to raise money.
