I never really thought that UFOs were real when I was small, and would have never believed in them had it not been for an experience that I had when I was eleven years old. You hear of UFO and paranormal experiences all the time, and most people simply blow them off. For me, I listen to them. Most people have not had a UFO experience and so they can not relate to them. I have. This is the story of what I witnessed many years ago, and have not forgotten to this day.
I was riding with my Mom to pick up my Father from work as we always did every evening. My Father was a truck driver and his terminal had a large gravel parking lot that everyone would park in while waiting for the truckers each evening. There were always about ten cars in the lot, and this evening was no different. The one thing that was different on this evening, however, was a number of people outside of their cars and mulling about staring at the sky.
My Mom pulled our car into a spot and we got out to see what was up. Up in the sky about a mile or two up was a single glowing ball of light. The light was a perfect circle and it was just hovering there. It was not moving and others there said that it had been there for about fifteen minutes already. The light was interesting but not overly scary. It basically looked like a large street light hovering in the middle of the night sky.
Not five minutes after we got there, however, that all changed.
The light then broke up into four other lights that flanked the central light on four sides. So now their were five lights hovering over our heads, and they seemed to materialize out of thin air. They were all sitting perfectly still, and the fear was thick in the air. Something just seemed wrong about the whole thing. It was clearly not a plane, or a weather balloon, or anything that any of us had ever seen before.
After about five more minutes, as we all looked on in morbid curiosity, the lights all shot off in five different directions like shooting stars. They were moving that fast. The movement was so quick that it left a trail of fading light behind each one of them.
Having seen this UFO with my own eyes, I have lived my life with a more open mind. There is no doubt in my mind that this UFO was real, and that it could not have been anything else. The next day the newspaper ran a story about it as well as several hundred people in the city had seen it as well. We all waited for a governmental explanation or something for it in the newspaper, but one never came.
It sure makes one wonder what else we do not know about our universe…
