The Perfect Haircut

It is said that the hair is crowning glory of a woman. The hairstyle is an expression of mood and for many; it is also a sneak peek into one’s personality. Changing hairstyles is a great deal for a woman and it often reflects a new phase of her life. Choosing a new hairdo is a dilemma as a lot relies on the outcome!

The most common way to choose a hair cut is flicking through magazines, looking for the most gorgeous women that carry the best “do” and showing the photo to the hair stylist. The problem with this is that people tend to forget that women in magazines have gone through hours and hours of blow-drying, conditioning and the works by experts before they come out looking fabulous. Fresh from the salon, the outcome may be exhilarating but after the first hair wash and blow-dry without the help of a stylist, reality sinks in!

haircutTo avoid a hair disaster, there are several factors to be considered in choosing a haircut – and by no means does it concern what the hottest actress has done to her hair. The fist step is talking to the stylist and taking time to analyze together, the hair texture before it goes to the shampoo room. This way, the types of hair cut will already be limited accordingly. A good stylist will know how to angle the hair with the customer’s facial structure and recommend the proper cut that would emphasize the best features. This is important as a bad haircut would instead, highlight what should be hidden!

For those who have a wide face and high forehead, shoulder-length layers would do good to show softness in the collar bone. The hair texture can be enhanced while keeping the natural form. It is not advisable for those with wild hair to force a straight hairdo as it would get back with a vengeance showing strict edges that gives a tired, worn out look.

For a round facial structure, bangs would do the trick to give an appearance of sharper cheekbones. Long hair with subtle layers from the bangs to the collarbones would give an impression of a longer silhouette and ultimately a slimmer look! It is important to keep layers subtle as more layers especially on the top part will enhance the round face.

For a long face with high forehead, angling is vital to give an impression of a fuller face. Bangs that are pushed to one side of the face would also hide the forehead and highlight the eyes. For a long face, adding volume to the hair is also vital to achieve a fuller look. Long straight hair will make the face look elongated. Adding layers right beneath the chin can help add life to the hairdo. Un-layered, straight and long hair would be unforgiving for a person with a long face and high forehead, matching this with short bangs would be a combo that can be rightly called a hair disaster!
