Makeup Essentials for Everyone

Many women have the misconception that they need to spend a lot or have a makeup bag brimming with tons of products in order to look good. The truth is, as long as you know which shade of a makeup product to buy, you only need a few essentials in your makeup bag for your everyday beauty needs. Basic makeup essentials are also important for women who are constantly on the go, because it helps in making them look good and presentable anywhere they are.

makeupHere is a list of basic products you should always carry. They are versatile, and will also come in handy should you need to freshen up in a hurry:

1. Invest in a good, non-comedogenic foundation. While shopping for one, use natural daylight and test the product on your jaw line. This will show you how close the product actually is to your natural face tone.

A good foundation is important for evening out your skin tone and using as a base for blush. It comes in handy for day or night, and the foundation also minimizes and reduces any redness around the face. However, do not apply foundation on the entire face; you only need to apply it on certain areas such as the sides of the nose, chin, cheeks, and the T-zone.

2. A concealer is necessary for hiding dark circles under the eyes, as well as blemishes. They work great in making you look fresh, even if you’ve had a long day. For liquid and cream concealers, remember to gently pat them as you apply instead of spreading them right away. This will ensure longer and more effective wear.

3. For pale women, bronzer is the most effective way to get rid of the pale skin quickly. It instantly lends a glow to the whole face, making you look fresh and radiant. Use a large brush and light pressure when applying bronzer to the face.

4. Blusher is important in making you look healthy. It also gives you a clean, polished look any time of day, even if you just got out of bed. Choose a blush that comes in a pink or berry tone that is not too dark, and apply it on an outer, sideways motion to the apples of your cheeks.

5. Eyeliner is the easiest and most affordable way to highlight your eyes. A matte black liner is the standard in making your eyes pop out, but don’t be afraid to try softer yet effective shades such as olive green, gray, and dark blue. Apply on the outer part of the eye, and gently blend with a smudging brush, which also softens the effect.

6. Last but not the least, a good lip-gloss will prettify your entire look. Choose a natural shade that comes in mauve, peach, or pinkish tones. There are a number of lip glosses in the market that are very affordable yet work great and feel great on the lips.

If your makeup bag has these essentials, you’re sure to look great even in day to night affairs.
